The posting

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Risk & Compliance Manager to join FNZ’s APAC Risk & Compliance team based in Melbourne.

This is a senior 2LOD risk role providing independent oversight, practical advice and constructive challenge across FNZ’s wealth management platform, administration and custody services, including services supporting superannuation clients.

Working across a broad and complex financial services environment, you’ll oversee and challenge how FNZ’s risk management framework is applied, assess the risk profile against risk appetite and challenge the effectiveness of key controls. You’ll oversee material incidents, breaches and remediation, provide oversight of operational resilience and significant business and technology change, and escalate material risks and risks outside appetite to senior management and governance forums.

You’ll also contribute to broader APAC Risk & Compliance initiatives and the ongoing development of FNZ’s Group Risk Management Framework.

The responsibilities will include:

  • Provide independent second-line oversight and challenge across FNZ’s operational and enterprise risk environment.
  • Support the application and ongoing enhancement of FNZ’s Group Risk Management Framework.
  • Assess FNZ’s risk profile against approved risk appetite and key risk indicators, escalating material exposures and emerging trends.
  • Facilitate and challenge business-owned risk and control assessments, including control effectiveness, residual risk and treatment plans.
  • Provide oversight of operational risks across platform administration, custody, reconciliations, asset safeguarding, data integrity and technology dependencies.
  • Undertake risk-based reviews of control design and effectiveness, providing clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Oversee material incidents, breaches and remediation, challenging root causes, impacts, action plans and closure evidence.
  • Provide risk oversight of third-party arrangements, critical service dependencies and operational resilience.
  • Challenge risk assessments and control readiness for significant change, including technology releases and platform migrations.
  • Provide clear risk reporting and insights to senior management and governance committees.
  • Build strong relationships across FNZ while maintaining the independence and constructive challenge expected of a second-line function.

What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate:

You’ll be an experienced risk professional with a strong understanding of the Australian financial services environment and demonstrated experience working within a second-line risk function.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated second-line operational or enterprise risk experience within Australian financial services.
  • Experience within wealth management, superannuation, platform administration or custody would be highly regarded.
  • Hands-on experience with risk and control assessments, risk appetite monitoring, controls assurance, incident analysis, remediation, operational resilence and change risk.
  • A strong understanding of operational risks associated with financial services platforms, custody, reconciliations, data, technology and third-party arrangements.
  • Working knowledge of the Australian regulatory environment, including relevant Corporations Act, SIS Act, AML/CTF and privacy requirements and APRA prudential standards including CPS230, CPS220.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify material risk themes and translate these into practical recommendations.
  • The confidence to constructively challenge and influence senior stakeholders while maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Strong commercial judgement and a pragmatic approach to balancing business objectives, regulatory obligations and risk appetite.
  • Relevant professional or industry qualifications in risk management, compliance or a related discipline.

What is in it for you?

FNZ is a global FinTech partnering with banks, insurers and asset managers to transform wealth management. In this role, you’ll work across a complex financial services environment and gain broad exposure to operational risk, technology, change and governance, while collaborating with experienced colleagues across Australia and the wider APAC region.

You’ll join a global business where you’ll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact, challenge how things are done and continue developing your career across a growing international organisation.

If you’re an experienced Risk professional looking for a senior role combining technical expertise, commercial judgement and genuine business influence, we’d love to hear from you.

If this role appeals to you, please apply with your cover letter and CV by 18 November 2026.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
