The posting

Are you ready to make some history?!

Foleon is a leading content creation platform providing business teams with a fast and scalable way to produce highly-engaging content experiences that bring a new level of intelligence to their customer journeys.

Foleon is based in Amsterdam and New York and serves more than 1,200 global B2B brands. We value people who are bold, ambitious, collaborative, and customer-centric. Even better, the ones who know how to work hard and have fun at the same time. We’re a team of highly driven people, with a great sense of human connection and a clear focus.

Your Mission

As a Legal Counsel, you’ll drive contracting across the business, from customer deals and vendor agreements to the templates and systems that keep everything moving, reporting to the Head of Legal. Based in Amsterdam, you’ll work closely with teams across Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Finance, across both EMEA and the US.

You’ll handle day-to-day commercial contracting, with room to grow into owning the process end-to-end: reviewing, redlining, and negotiating customer agreements, often working directly with customers’ legal teams. On the vendor side, you’ll partner with the Head of Legal across the full contract lifecycle, from onboarding to renewal. As our Product offering grows, you’ll also increasingly work with Product on legal and compliance questions related to new features and data.

You’ll also help maintain our contract management system, with the opportunity to grow into full ownership over time. This means keeping templates up to date, contracts organized, and the system easy for the rest of the business to use.

Your Job

  • Review, redline, and negotiate customer contracts for EMEA and US, looping in outside counsel when a deal needs it.
  • Work directly with customers' legal teams to get agreements across the line.
  • Review vendor and supplier agreements against company policy.
  • Partner with the Head of Legal on the full vendor contract lifecycle, from onboarding to renewal.
  • Join biweekly syncs with the Product team on upcoming features, and review feature summaries before they're built to flag legal and compliance questions early.
  • Sit with Product and Development to see how a feature actually works, and flag anything in the UI or UX that needs a legal fix.
  • Work with Marketing to keep legal disclaimers, external communications, and product names compliant (unfair competition, IP, third-party rights).
  • Keep our MSAs, T&Cs, order forms, and DPAs current, working with the Head of Legal on amendments as our product and business change.
  • Maintain our contract management system so templates and contracts are easy to find and track.
  • Train commercial teams on negotiation and on using our CLM tool.
  • Track changes in relevant laws, regulations, and case law, and apply that research to real decisions.

Your Competencies & Skills

  • Approachable and a clear communicator, you can explain legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders without losing anyone, and you keep turnaround times predictable.
  • Comfortable representing Foleon directly in negotiations.
  • Comfortable adjusting your schedule to overlap with teams across EMEA and US time zones.
  • Detail-oriented: you catch the nuances in contract language that others miss.
  • Curious about product, you ask questions, dig into the why behind a feature, and want to get closer to how the product gets built.

Your Qualifications

  • A law degree (Bachelor's or higher).
  • At least 2 years of legal experience, ideally international.
  • Experience negotiating commercial agreements, including service agreements, NDAs, and vendor contracts.
  • Working knowledge of EU law. Familiarity with US law is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of AI regulation, such as the EU AI Act.
  • Comfortable using AI tools in your daily work, with an interest in building workflows that make legal work more efficient.
  • Tech, IT, or SaaS experience is a plus.
  • Fluent English.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
