The posting

Fondomonte is seeking reliable, hardworking General Farm Workers to support our daily agricultural operations. Our vertically integrated farming operation includes growing, harvesting, and exporting forage products.

This hands-on position performs a variety of manual labor, equipment operation, material handling, and routine maintenance tasks. Successful candidates will bring previous agricultural experience, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform general farm labor to support daily agricultural operations.
  • Safely operate assigned machinery, equipment, and hand tools when trained and authorized.
  • Assist with agricultural production activities and material handling.
  • Load, unload, move, and organize materials, supplies, and agricultural products.
  • Assist with routine equipment cleaning, inspections, and basic maintenance; report equipment problems and safety concerns promptly.
  • Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Work with team members to complete assignments efficiently and meet operational goals.
  • Adapt to changing workloads and assist with other farm activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Previous hands-on farm or agricultural experience is required.
  • Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with a team.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize assignments, and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
  • Positive, professional attitude and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends, based on seasonal and operational needs.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Perform extensive walking, standing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movements.
  • Bend, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required by assigned tasks.
  • Work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
  • Work around dust, hay, alfalfa particles, and agricultural equipment.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and follow established safety procedures.
  • Use of PPE (personal protective equipment) may be required, including gloves, dust masks, and hearing protection.
