  • Own the technical evaluation process, including proof of concepts (POCs), trials, and solution validation activities.
  • Identify and address technical and functional objections throughout the sales process, collaborating with internal teams to develop effective solutions.
  • Develop and present solution proposals that clearly articulate business value and competitive differentiation to stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives.
  • Estimate Professional Services effort and develop implementation project plans to support successful customer deployments.
  • Stay informed on competitive offerings and positioning to effectively differentiate Fortra solutions.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the Fortra portfolio and proactively identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities.

Partner Engagement

  • Collaborate with channel and strategic partners on customer visits, demonstrations, proposals, events, and sales opportunities.
  • Support partner recruitment efforts by participating in discussions with prospective partners.
  • Assist with partner enablement activities, including technical training, product education, and solution positioning.
  • Deliver technical presentations and respond to technical questions during partner and customer engagements.

Industry Representation

  • Represent Fortra at industry conferences, trade shows, user groups, webinars, and virtual events.
  • Deliver presentations and thought leadership content when appropriate.
  • Build and maintain industry relationships to enhance market awareness and visibility.

Product & Technical Marketing

  • Participate in webinars, product showcases, and industry-focused educational events.
  • Support the launch of new products, features, and releases.
  • Serve as a market expert by providing insight into customer use cases, market trends, competitive positioning, and field feedback.
  • Partner with Product Management and Marketing teams to communicate customer needs and market opportunities.

Senior Solutions Engineering Responsibilities

  • Participate in and support the organization's most strategic and complex opportunities.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effectively position and demonstrate a broad range of Fortra solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical mastery of assigned products and technologies.
  • Understand how products fit within broader customer environments, business processes, and technology ecosystems.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor and subject matter expert for Sales and partner teams.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance sales effectiveness, business analysis processes, and customer outcomes.

Continuous Improvement

  • Continuously refine and improve business analysis, solution design, and sales engineering processes to drive efficiency, consistency, and better customer outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and knowledge sharing across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, technical consulting, software development, IT operations, technical support, or a related customer-facing technology role.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working directly with customers in a consultative, technical, or pre-sales capacity.
  • Strong technical foundation in relevant technologies, including enterprise software, infrastructure, security, cloud platforms, integrations, or related solution domains.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate, train, and influence both technical and non-technical audiences.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
