About the Role

We are developing a web-based 3D IFC model viewer that enables processing officers and industry users to inspect, navigate, and query building models directly in the browser without requiring specialised desktop software.

You will join a small, cross-functional product team and work closely with backend engineers, product managers, and domain experts to develop and deliver the viewer for government agencies and industry users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop the web-based 3D IFC model viewer, from technical architecture through implementation.
  • Explore and evaluate suitable open-source libraries and technologies, including IFC parsers and WebGL frameworks.
  • Develop model navigation and inspection capabilities, including object selection, section cuts, property inspection, and related features.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers on server-side geometry processing and data APIs.
  • Optimise viewer performance for large and complex IFC models.
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges related to 3D rendering, geometry processing, and browser performance.
  • Continuously improve the viewer based on feedback from government agencies and industry users.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and familiarity with backend JavaScript runtimes such as Node.js or Deno.
  • Good understanding of 3D graphics and/or computational geometry concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Willingness and ability to explore and learn new technologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Good to Have

Experience or familiarity with any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Frontend, backend, or full-stack web development.
  • WebGL or 3D web frameworks such as Babylon.js.
  • Python and IFC-related libraries such as IfcOpenShell.
  • Building Information Modelling (BIM) concepts and IFC standards.
  • Geospatial data and information systems.
  • Agentic or AI-assisted software development.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
