About the Role
We are looking for a Mechanical and Configuration Engineer to manage product configuration throughout the entire lifecycle, from development to full-scale production. In this role, you will ensure product traceability, compliance, and quality by coordinating configuration management activities across engineering, production, and the supply chain.
At Frankenburg, you will join an exceptional team of leading experts in technology and national defence, building next-generation defence missile systems for the free world. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your contribution shapes how we verify and demonstrate advanced defence systems. If you thrive on innovation and impact — we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead configuration management activities across the product lifecycle, ensuring traceability, consistency, and compliance.
- Define, maintain, and control product baselines and configuration items.
- Coordinate configuration changes, from review and approval to implementation and documentation.
- Maintain and improve the Product Data Management (PDM) system to support product development and production.
- Develop and implement configuration management processes, tools, and best practices across the organisation.
- Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies, and components to meet technical requirements.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, documentation, and technical data.
We Would Love You to Have
- Educational Background Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience At least 3 years of experience in the design of complex mechanical systems.
- Technical Expertise Proficiency in CAD tools, configuration management systems, and the preparation and maintenance of accurate technical documentation.
- Soft Skills Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Mission Alignment Strong alignment with our mission to build affordable and mass-manufacturable defence technologies — ensuring every euro spent moves us closer to our goal.
- Security Clearance Willingness to undergo a background check as a condition of employment.
Our Values
Our mission is ambitious, and it takes a team that works with the same intensity.
- Own the Mission: Mission first. Always. We choose impact — we focus on what moves the mission forward fastest instead of “nice-to-haves". We fix it now — when delays or problems appear, we step up, rally the right people, and solve them immediately. We keep momentum — when time matters, we stay focused and move forward without waiting for perfect conditions.
- Strive for More: Dare more. Do more. Achieve the impossible. We challenge the status quo — we question, test, and improve instead of accepting “the usual way.” We embrace discomfort — we step outside comfort zones and turn challenges into growth. We anticipate the future — we build solutions that scale and set higher standards each time.
- Build with Trust: Be open. Keep promises. We walk the talk — what we say, we do. No excuses, no exceptions. We share openly — we communicate clearly and early, even when the news is hard. We own outcomes — we admit errors quickly, fix them, and prevent them from repeating.
