Position Overview:

Freddie Mac’s Investments & Capital Markets (I&CM) Division supports liquidity in the U.S. housing finance system through capital markets activities, portfolio management, and risk management. The Division Model Governance (DMG) team is a first line of defense governance function that partners with business, modeling, technology, and risk stakeholders to support strong model risk management practices across the model lifecycle.

This Model Governance Professional role will support the Sr. Director and Managers of DMG by helping run core governance processes, strengthening reporting and controls, and coordinating execution across model stakeholders. The ideal candidate can operate independently, is highly analytical, recognizes patterns and themes in data and issues, and is advanced in Excel or Power BI.

Our Impact:

  • Managing model-related compliance and operational risks within the division
  • Maintaining accurate model inventory and transparency through enterprise tooling and reporting
  • Coordinating with enterprise risk partners to support timely issue resolution and adherence to policy

Your Impact:

In this role, you will support DMG leadership (Director and Managers) and partner with Model Business Owners (MBOs), Model Development Owners (MDOs), technology teams, and enterprise risk partners. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, coordinate, and support the preparation of materials for management and committee meetings.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI reporting and related analytics.
  • Maintain the AI RAG knowledge source and support in AI use case development.
  • Maintain model inventory in the Model Risk Tool and coordinate quarterly MBO confirmations.
  • Facilitate model use confirmations, with guidance and oversight from managers.
  • Execute and document the SOX control.
  • Support other approved ad hoc projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics or equivalent experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage assigned processes, manage competing priorities, and drive work to closure.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize information, recognize patterns/themes, and translate data into clear reporting and actions.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with experience using or an interest in developing Power BI and AI workflow capabilities, and comfort working with large datasets.

Keys to Success in this Role:

  • Proactive, organized, and able to anticipate governance needs and risks.
  • Strong reporting discipline—produces concise, accurate, decision-useful materials.
  • Analytical mindset—connects dots across data, issues, and stakeholders to surface themes and drive improvements.
  • Collaborative partner who can influence business, technology, and risk teams.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and strong attention to detail.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
