The posting

About the Role

As a Product Engineer, you are the technical expert for your product throughout its lifecycle. You are the bridge between Production, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering, ensuring products can be built efficiently, consistently, and according to customer expectations.

You take ownership once products move into the production phase and become the go-to person for technical questions, production challenges, process improvements, and product changes. You enjoy solving problems, working closely with people on the shop floor, and continuously looking for ways to improve quality, efficiency, and manufacturability.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. One day you may be troubleshooting a production issue, the next you may be implementing a product change, updating manufacturing documentation, or leading a continuous improvement initiative.

What You Will Do

  • Act as the technical owner and product expert for assigned products during production and sustaining phases.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues, test failures, and quality concerns using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to support product introductions and ensure a smooth transition from prototype to volume production.
  • Maintain and improve manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, test instructions, BOMs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and process documentation.
  • Support the implementation of engineering changes and ensure changes are correctly translated to the production environment.
  • Review manufacturing processes, tooling, layouts, and material flows to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Act as second-line technical support for production teams and help resolve complex product-related challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, lead time reduction, and waste elimination.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to achieve business objectives.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree (HBO) in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with high-tech products and complex assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and product lifecycle management.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Root Cause Analysis. Lean Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Dutch is an advantage.

Who You Are

You are naturally curious and enjoy understanding how things work. When problems occur, you don't stop at fixing the symptom, you want to understand the root cause and prevent it from happening again.

You are comfortable balancing multiple priorities and know how to keep focus when production pressures are high. You enjoy collaborating with different teams, are approachable on the shop floor, and can translate technical information into practical solutions.

Most importantly, you combine analytical thinking with a hands-on mentality and are always looking for opportunities to improve products, processes, and performance.

Why Join Frencken Mechatronics?

At Frencken Mechatronics, you will work in a dynamic high-tech manufacturing environment where your expertise directly impacts product quality, operational performance, and customer satisfaction. You will have the opportunity to take ownership, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute to the continuous improvement of innovative products and manufacturing processes.

We offer a good salary, bonus scheme, 40 days of holidays (inluding 13 ADV days), and development opportunities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
