Here, colleagues collaborate openly, leaders give you room to develop, and the environment is built on trust, inclusion, and continuous learning. You’ll find the stability of a global organization and the agility of one that’s actively expanding — a place where your career can accelerate alongside the business.

If you want to move forward with a company that brings its people with it — Fuller is where that happens.

About the role

The Field Service Engineer is a senior technical field leader responsible for driving complex installation, commissioning, maintenance, and optimization activities across heavy industrial process systems, with a strong focus on the cement industry.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this role serves as a trusted technical advisor to customers and internal stakeholders while directing multi-disciplinary field teams. The Senior Field Service Engineer combines deep mechanical and hydraulic expertise, specifically with heavy rotary and grinding equipment with site leadership, commercial awareness, and customer-facing problem-solving. This position plays a critical role in strengthening customer relationships, driving operational excellence during plant shutdowns, and generating service and spare parts business growth.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties and specific projects may be assigned at management's discretion.

Field Execution & Technical Leadership

  • Complex System Execution: Lead field execution for complex installations, commissioning, shutdowns, and operational optimization projects across heavy industrial process environments.
  • Team Supervision: Direct and coordinate multi-disciplinary field teams; oversee site deputation, shift scheduling, and team utilization to ensure safe, high-quality delivery.
  • Equipment Mastery: Perform site inspection, installation, commissioning, and advanced troubleshooting on heavy machinery, specifically Kiln, Coolers, and Vertical Roller Mills (VRM).
  • Precision Diagnostics: Execute advanced mechanical diagnostics, including Hot Kiln Alignment, mechanical clearances, and root cause analysis (RCA) to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime.
  • Turnkey Project Management: Plan and execute turnkey maintenance and installation projects from preparation through site acceptance testing (SAT).
  • Hydraulic Troubleshooting: Apply practical hydraulic systems knowledge to diagnose and resolve hydraulic power unit (HPU) and actuator issues onsite.

Commercial, Documentation & Business Growth

  • Service Business Development: Identify customer requirements during site visits to generate leads for spares, upgrades, refurbishments, and expanded service agreements.
  • Commercial Documentation: Assist in preparing technical offers, scope proposals, and follow up to secure customer orders.
  • Reporting & Governance: Produce site inspection reports, Minutes of Meetings (MOM), and formal customer presentations on time; ensure prompt submission of field expenses to facilitate timely client invoicing.
  • Cross-Functional Partnering: Provide ongoing feedback to Sales, Engineering, and Procurement teams regarding equipment performance, client needs, and local site conditions.

Safety, Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Site EHS Leadership: Enforce full adherence to company and client safety policies, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards, and quality documentation protocols on every project.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to improve maintenance planning accuracy, reduce shutdown lead times, and optimize process efficiency for client operations.
  • Customer Training: Conduct technical training sessions and operational readiness programs for customer plant personnel and site contractors.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related engineering discipline). Equivalent combination of high-level technical training and extensive commercial/field experience will be considered.
  • Field Experience: Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in heavy industrial environments, specifically within the cement sector or closely related continuous-process industries.
  • Shutdown & Assembly Mastery: Proven experience managing plant turnaround/shutdown activities, field alignment, and commissioning of heavy equipment (Ball Mills, Coolers, VRMs).
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Travel: Willingness and capability to travel extensively with readiness for immediate dispatch on short notice.
  • Industrial Site Environment: Comfortable working in active, demanding industrial plant conditions (dusty, high-noise, elevated platforms, outdoors in high ambient temperatures).
  • Physical Capability: Ability to maneuver around heavy machinery, climb ladders/scaffolding, and inspect equipment spaces in active manufacturing facilities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
