Job Description Summary
As the Auburn Site Human Resources Leader, you will provide the full scope of HR advice, guidance, and support across the site. Auburn manufactures commercial high pressure turbine blades for aviation engines. It also produces a variety of aviation parts using our cutting-edge additive manufacturing (3D printing) technology. You will partner with the Auburn leadership team to plan and carry out people strategies that build engagement, capability, and performance. You will help embed FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace's lean operating model, in how the site runs every day. You will also lead the use of AI and digital tools that make HR faster, smarter, and more connected to the shop floor.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead the full scope of HR for the site: salaried and hourly employee relations, benefits, compensation, employee involvement, HR policies and practices, training, organizational development, change management, and communications.
- Lead recruiting, selection, performance management, and career development, including high-volume hourly hiring to support production growth.
- Partner with leaders to define roles and design the organizational structure for a shop producing turbine airfoils and additively manufactured aviation parts.
- Champion FLIGHT DECK with the site leadership team. Build a culture of respect for people and continuous improvement, focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost and supported by kaizen, standard work, problem solving, and daily management.
- Use lean principles to improve HR's own processes, such as hiring, onboarding, and resolving employee issues. Remove waste and track results with visual management and clear metrics.
- Lead the responsible use of AI in site HR. Find and deploy AI-enabled tools for recruiting, onboarding, workforce planning, employee self-service, and HR analytics. Make sure these tools are used fairly, transparently, and in line with EEO, privacy, and company policy.
- Prepare the workforce for AI and digital manufacturing. Partner with leaders on skills assessments, reskilling and upskilling, and change management as automation, data, and AI tools reach the shop floor and support teams.
- Use people data and analytics to anticipate attrition, staffing gaps, and engagement risks, and recommend proactive actions to leadership.
- Advise on the design and rollout of compensation and recognition programs.
- Deliver training on HR topics, including interviewing, EEO compliance, lean leadership behaviors, and the responsible use of AI tools.
- Lead annual organizational design reviews.
- Drive site-wide communications, including employee engagement surveys, and turn the results into clear action plans.
- Act as an impartial advocate to ensure every employee is treated fairly and equitably.
- Build HR plans that support key business needs in a fast-changing environment, and lead change management as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources Management.
Desired Characteristics:
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Labor Relations, or Business Administration from an accredited college or university.
- Experience in employee relations, including arbitration, EEO/AAP compliance, and litigation support.
- Strong desire to work in a manufacturing environment and connect with the shop floor.
- Hands-on lean experience in manufacturing, such as kaizen, gemba walks, standard work, and structured problem solving.
- Comfort and curiosity with AI and digital HR tools, and good judgment about where AI adds value and where human judgment must lead.
- Working knowledge of HR analytics and the ability to turn data into decisions.
- Experience leading change through technology or process transformation.
- Experience leading and developing teams.
- Strong coaching, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities across strategic and day-to-day operational work.
