Job Description Summary

The Lead Engineer will join a unique mechanical design team focused on developing next generation exhaust technology in support of the warfighter. You will lead nozzle technology development efforts in close collaboration with materials, manufacturing, and test teams, and you will drive nozzle technology readiness by completing analysis, component testing, and materials testing. Focus on CMC materials.

This role is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a nozzle technology development project and lead a cross functional team to deliver in a challenging environment. The ability to navigate challenging, frequently changing and sometimes nebulous requirements is a must. Strong demonstration of GE Aerospace behaviors and priorities is required. • Own technical execution across the development lifecycle, including concept design, detailed design, analysis, drawing release, component testing, and materials evaluation to advance technology readiness.
  • Partner closely with materials, manufacturing, test, and systems teams to develop viable design solutions, resolve technical issues, and ensure producibility, testability, and overall program execution.
  • Drive resolution of complex design challenges in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements, using sound engineering judgment, prioritization, and a hands-on problem-solving approach.
  • Apply FLIGHT DECK fundamentals to manage work, improve team execution, and deliver results in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Provide technical leadership and communication across the team by presenting progress, risks, and recommendations to engineering leadership, business stakeholders, customers, and external partners.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design and/or mechanical analysis roles.

  • Possess an existing US Government Security Clearance.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Demonstrated experience with exhaust nozzles, structures, ducts and liners
  • In-depth understanding of engineering technology and tools such as Ansys, Siemens NX, Finite Element Analysis and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  • Passionate, can-do, hands-on approach
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous design challenges/scenarios

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
