The posting

The Engineering Technician I supports Product Engineering by creating and maintaining engineering drawings, product documentation, and controlled product master data. The position uses SolidWorks and SAP/ECTR to complete defined assignments involving product models and drawings, specification sheets, customer approval drawings, part-number setup, bills of material (BOMs), routings, and Product Engineering Requests (PERs). Work is performed using established standards and procedures, with engineering review provided for technical assumptions, design decisions, and acceptance criteria.

Key Responsibilities

· Create and revise SolidWorks parts, assemblies, and drawings for products, components, fixtures, and related engineering applications.

· Prepare and maintain product drawings, specification sheets, customer approval drawings, and other controlled technical documentation.

· Create and maintain engineering-related master data in SAP/ECTR, including material records, document links, classifications, and other required fields.

· Support new part-number setup, including standard, Same As Except (SAE), and project-related parts.

· Create and maintain BOMs and routings in coordination with Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Data, and other applicable functions.

· Initiate, process, and support PERs and engineering change activities, ensuring approved updates are accurately reflected in models, drawings, specifications, BOMs, routings, and SAP/ECTR records.

· Check documents and master data for completeness, revision consistency, correct relationships, and compliance with established naming, numbering, and release requirements.

· Coordinate assigned documentation and data activities with internal stakeholders and follow issues through completion.

· Support prototype builds, product testing, dimensional verification, and collection or organization of technical data as assigned.

· Identify recurring drawing, documentation, or master-data issues and support continual improvement and cost-saving activities that improve accuracy, cycle time, and process efficiency.

· Maintain organized records and contribute to work instructions, training materials, and standard practices for engineering documentation and product-data activities.

· Comply with applicable safety, quality, environmental, document-control, and company requirements.

Education and Experience

· Associate degree or technical certificate in drafting, engineering technology, mechanical design, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.

· Relevant drafting, product-data, manufacturing, or technical experience may be considered in place of formal education.

· Experience using SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software is preferred.

· Experience with SAP is preferred. Experience with ECTR, PDM, PLM, ERP, or other controlled product-data systems is beneficial.

· Experience with plastic piping products, fabricated fittings, injection-molded products, tooling, or a manufacturing environment is beneficial.

Knowledge and Skills

· Working knowledge of 3D modeling, assemblies, engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and revision control.

· Ability to accurately interpret defined engineering requirements, specifications, and established drafting standards.

· Ability to maintain accurate relationships among drawings, material masters, BOMs, routings, specifications, and change records.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and SharePoint or similar collaboration tools.

· Strong attention to detail, organization, problem solving, written communication, and follow-through.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively across functions, and escalate technical or data-governance questions when required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
