Raytheon, an RTX business, is seeking an experienced and motivated Principal Program Security Specialist to join our Global Security Services (GSS) Industrial Security Team. This position is based in the Northeast U.S. region and provides a unique opportunity to play a critical role in protecting national security information while supporting some of the most advanced defense programs in the world.

As a Principal Program Security Specialist, you will serve as an embedded security professional and trusted advisor to program leadership. Acting as a security decision authority in partnership with the Program Area Directorate Security Lead, you will provide strategic and tactical oversight of program security operations while ensuring full compliance with U.S. Government and Department of Defense (DoD) security requirements. You will be the face of Industrial Security for assigned programs, directly interfacing with senior peers across Finance, Contracts, Supply Chain, Quality, Operations, and Engineering to align security objectives with mission success.

This position reports directly to the Sub Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) Security Manager and functionally aligns to the Raytheon GSS Industrial Security Center of Excellence. The ideal candidate is a self-driven professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and has demonstrated expertise in industrial and program security leadership. This position is hybrid, with periodic travel to other Raytheon or subcontractor locations.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and support program security operations, ensuring compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM Rule), DD Form 254 contract security requirements, bilateral security agreements, DoD policy, and related directives across multiple domestic and international programs.
  • Support long-term global security strategies that support evolving mission needs, collaborating with U.S. and international government representatives, customer security offices, and security leadership.
  • Interpret and analyze contractual documentation (SOWs, CDRLs, and security clauses) for applicability, ensuring that security obligations are accurately captured and implemented.
  • Support program administration including Common Access Card (CAC) and Secure Internet Protocol Router (SIPR), Requests for Foreign Visits (RFV), and training compliance audits.
  • Serve as a liaison between program management, subcontractors, and government customers to resolve security challenges, clarify compliance interpretations, and promote best practices.
  • Advise deployed and CONUS-based teams on security procedures, providing direction and expertise to both company and government security managers.
  • Prepare and manage secure transportation, transmission, and protection plans for classified material, both domestic and international, to ensure compliant handling throughout the lifecycle.
  • Conduct investigations of security incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to mitigate future risk.
  • Support cybersecurity accreditation efforts, collaborating with Information Systems Security Managers (ISSMs) to ensure classified networks meet regulatory standards.
  • Organize and execute security projects, support for off-site events, reviews, and customer demonstrations, including security plan development and onsite management.
  • Prepare for and assist with Self Inspections, DCSA assessments, and government audits, ensuring findings are properly addressed and continuous improvement is sustained.
  • Conduct subcontractor visits and compliance assessments, offering partnership and assistance to enhance their security posture.
  • Develop and deliver engaging security education and awareness briefings tailored to audiences across multiple organizational levels.
  • Travel as required (estimated up to 10-20%) to support programs and conduct field activities.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in industrial, program, or information security, or equivalent experience in military/government security roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of NISPOM Rule (32 CFR Part 117) and related DoD, DCMA, or DCSA security requirements.
  • Experience analyzing complex requirements, provide practical compliance solutions, and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in collaboration with government security offices and contracting authorities.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Advanced understanding of Raytheon defense programs, including Patriot and LTAMDS sensors, and their associated security requirements.
  • Experience supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) contracts and understanding of export control/security intersections.
  • Experience developing or leading security programs for Special Access Programs (SAP) or Classified Information Systems.
  • Familiarity with risk management principles, insider threat mitigation, and DCSA security rating criteria.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and regulatory guidance to non-security professionals.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex projects, building relationships, and driving a strong security culture within multidisciplinary teams.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
