The posting

Do you enjoy helping people, keeping things running smoothly, and spotting a problem before anyone else notices it? Are you excited to be the face of Kabisa for every driver who plugs in?

Kabisa is looking for a Charging Station Operator to oversee day-to-day operations at our EV charging stations: helping customers charge their vehicles, handling payments, and keeping the station safe, clean, and working.

Location: Kigali

Reports into: Charging Operations Supervisor

Contract: Six-month probation, followed by a one-year fixed-term contract

Job summary

As a member of the Kabisa Charging Station team, you'll oversee station operations, assist customers with charging their vehicles, manage payments, and make sure the station functions smoothly. You'll provide customer support, make sure equipment is in good working condition, and handle issues as they arise, reporting them to the Charging Operations Supervisor.

Customer service is your priority. Your goal is to deliver an exceptional experience every time and to flag potential issues before they affect the customer or the station.

Why this role matters

Reliable charging is what makes electric mobility practical for drivers. For many customers, you're their first and most frequent point of contact with Kabisa, and a smooth, friendly charging experience builds lasting trust in both Kabisa and electric vehicles.

What you'll do

Customer assistance & engagement

  • Assist customers with connecting their vehicles to the charging station.
  • Provide clear instructions on how to use the charging equipment and guide customers through the charging process.
  • Answer customer questions about charging, station locations, and EV-related topics.
  • Address concerns or complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Promote the benefits of electric vehicles and Kabisa's services to encourage customer engagement and satisfaction.

Payment handling

  • Inform customers about the cost of charging based on energy consumed.
  • Guide customers through the payment process, including digital payments.
  • Ensure payments are correctly processed and recorded in the Kabisa Platform.

Station management

  • Monitor the performance of charging equipment to make sure it's functioning properly.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of the station.
  • Report technical issues or malfunctions to the technical support team for prompt resolution.

Troubleshooting & issue resolution

  • Identify and address minor charging issues, such as connection errors or equipment problems.
  • Escalate more complex technical issues to the appropriate maintenance or technical teams.

Reporting & documentation

  • Log all customer transactions, payments, and equipment usage.
  • Report on daily operations, station performance, and any issues encountered during shifts.
  • Help gather customer feedback for service improvements.

What you bring

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to assist customers and resolve their issues.
  • Basic technical knowledge: an understanding of EV charging equipment and the ability to troubleshoot basic issues.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing payments and reporting.
  • Reliability: you keep the station operational and deliver consistent service to customers.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve minor issues.
  • A commitment to a safe working environment and to following safety guidelines.
  • Flexibility: you must be willing and able to work night shifts and weekends.
  • 0–1 years of experience in customer service or a similar environment preferred.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English and Kinyarwanda.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
