Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

The Opportunity

This Nuclear Medicine Technologist role pays $82,000 to $105,000 a year with a $15,000 sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance is available. The work goes beyond a single department: you'll perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in both hospital and physician office settings, including mobile nuclear cardiology with a gamma camera that travels to physician offices across New York and Pennsylvania.

You'll report to the Supervisor of Nuclear Medicine and work with advanced imaging technology, from gamma cameras to PACS. Recruiting nationwide, with relocation paid.

Why This Opportunity Is Worth a Look

  • $15,000 sign-on bonus on top of a salary range of $82,000-$105,000
  • Paid relocation, with candidates considered from across the country
  • Variety of work: diagnostics, nuclear cardiology, radiopharmaceutical preparation, and therapeutic procedures
  • Mobile nuclear cardiology that takes you into physician offices rather than keeping you in one room all day
  • Patients from neonates through geriatrics
  • New graduates considered. One year of experience is preferred, not required
  • Tuition assistance and continuing education support
  • Opportunities for advancement and cross-training

Your Day-to-Day

  • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine and nuclear cardiology procedures, including patient preparation, radiopharmaceutical administration, and IV catheter insertion as required
  • Acquire and process images using gamma cameras, PACS, and nuclear medicine management systems
  • Run quality control testing on imaging equipment and review physician orders for appropriateness
  • Order, prepare, and calculate doses of radiopharmaceuticals, including managing Tc99m kits and bulk supplies
  • Administer therapeutic doses, coordinating with referring offices and radiologists on planning and pre-testing documentation
  • Manage ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution of radioactive materials and waste in line with hospital and New York State requirements
  • Travel to physician offices across NY and PA to transport, set up, and operate a mobile gamma camera, working independently alongside physicians, nurses, and patients
  • Take part in accreditation activities and keep up continuing education

What We're Looking For

  • Current certification or eligibility for certification in Nuclear Medicine through NMTCB or ARRT
  • Eligibility for New York State Nuclear Medicine Technologist licensure
  • Valid driver's license and insurability
  • BLS certification, required within 90 days of hire
  • Preferred: formal 2- or 4-year degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • Preferred: one year of experience, though motivated new graduates will be considered

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Retirement plan with employer contribution
  • Tuition assistance and continuing education support
  • Employee wellness and assistance programs

Why Candidates Say Yes

Strong pay, a $15,000 sign-on bonus, and paid relocation make the financial case. The mix of hospital-based and mobile work, plus a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, keeps the job from becoming routine.

Elmira sits in the Finger Lakes region, close to Watkins Glen, Seneca Lake, and the Corning Glass Museum. Rochester and Syracuse are each about two hours away, and the area offers affordable housing and year-round outdoor recreation.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
