The posting

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a junior associate in its Financial Regulatory & Compliance Practice. The position is based in our Washington D.C., Phoenix, Dallas or Miami offices. We offer competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package.

GT has a broad legal footprint across the United States and a strong global financial services regulatory practice. Our attorneys work with clients of all sizes in the banking and fintech industries, both in the United States and internationally.

Greenberg Traurig’s Financial Regulatory & Compliance Practice includes more than 80 attorneys across the United States and in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. This global platform enables us to serve domestic and international clients with a wide range of industry, practice, and jurisdictional needs. We continue to build on a practice base that, while very broad, is nonetheless refined to serve the unique industry, practice, and jurisdictional needs of our diverse client base.

We are seeking a junior associate with 2 -4 years of experience and a strong interest in financial services regulation and compliance. The successful candidate will work with experienced attorneys on matters involving banks, fintech companies, money services businesses, consumer and commercial lenders, and virtual currency payment platforms. Responsibilities may include researching legal and regulatory issues; preparing memoranda, regulatory filings, and client communications; and supporting matters involving licensing and chartering, new product development, mergers and acquisitions, bank partnership models, and third-party risk management.

Relevant experience or exposure to financial services laws and regulations—such as BSA/AML, the Bank Holding Company Act, the International Banking Act, Dodd Frank, TILA, RESPA, Community Reinvestment Act, and consumer protection laws—is important. Experience interacting with federal or state financial regulators, including the Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, FinCEN, CFPB or state regulatory authorities, or familiarity with their supervisory and examination practices is preferred. Candidates are not expected to have experience across all of these areas.

Candidates should have a strong academic background, excellent legal research, analysis, and writing skills, and careful attention to detail. We are looking for someone who is diligent, proactive, team-oriented, committed to client service, and eager to take on increasing responsibility. Candidates must be admitted to, or eligible for admission to, the bar in the relevant jurisdiction. Professional proficiency in Spanish is a plus, but is not required.

The expected pay range for this position is: Washington D.C.: $235,000- $310,000 annually

Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program. Additional voluntary programs include: voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary critical illness and cancer insurance and pet insurance. Commuter and Transit programs may also be available in certain markets.

GT is an EEO employer with an inclusive workplace committed to merit-based consideration and review without regard to an individual’s race, sex, or other protected characteristics and to the principles of non-discrimination on any protected basis.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
