Pay, Schedule & Location
Pay: $22.00/hour Schedule: Full-time Location: Columbus, OH (Metro Area)
What You'll Do Career Coaching & Employment Support
Provide individualized career coaching before, during, and after job placement. Help participants identify career goals, overcome employment barriers, and develop workplace skills. Guide individuals through career exploration, resume development, interviewing techniques, and job search strategies. Develop individualized employment and training plans aligned with participant goals and employer needs. Provide ongoing support and follow-up services to promote long-term employment success and retention.
Workforce Training & Job Readiness
Facilitate workplace readiness training focused on professionalism, communication, teamwork, adaptability, and customer service. Deliver one-on-one coaching to build confidence and strengthen workplace performance. Provide on-the-job coaching and support related to attendance, reliability, work ethic, and employer expectations. Assist participants in navigating workplace challenges and developing solutions that support success.
Employer & Community Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with employers and workforce development partners. Serve as a liaison between participants and employers to support successful placements. Understand employer workforce needs and identify opportunities for participant employment. Support employer engagement goals and positive business partnerships.
Documentation & Program Performance
Maintain accurate participant records, case notes, and program documentation. Track participant progress and employment outcomes using agency databases and reporting systems. Monitor program performance and contribute to meeting placement and retention goals. Provide exceptional customer service and a positive participant experience.
Qualifications Education & Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Workforce Development, Recruitment, Employment Services, Vocational Counseling, Case Management, or a related field. Experience providing career coaching, employment support services, workforce training, or job placement assistance preferred. CPR, First Aid, and crisis intervention certification may be required based on program needs. Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of personal auto insurance required.
Skills & Competencies
Strong coaching, mentoring, and relationship-building skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to motivate, engage, and support individuals from diverse backgrounds. Experience building relationships with employers, community partners, and workforce stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Experience using databases, case management systems, or workforce development platforms. Strong organization, time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
Work Environment
Office-based environment with moderate noise levels. Regular interaction with program participants, employers, and community partners. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and computer use. Local travel may be required for employer visits, participant support, and community engagement activities. Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
