Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration
Coordinate weekly payroll submissions and review payroll reports for accuracy.
Serve as the primary payroll contact for employees and management.
Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as required.
Oversee payroll processing for union and non-union employees, ensuring accurate application of wage rates, overtime, shift premiums, union dues, benefits, and other contractually required payments.
Maintain compliance with payroll regulations and collective bargaining agreements through audits, reporting, reconciliations, and coordination with union representatives and benefit providers.
Human Resources
Manage employee onboarding, personnel records, and HR documentation.
Support recruiting, hiring, employee development, and offboarding activities.
Answer employee questions regarding policies, payroll, and benefits.
Assist managers with performance management and employee relations matters.
Benefits Administration
Coordinate employee benefit enrollments and qualifying life events.
Assist with open enrollment activities and benefit communications.
Reconcile benefit invoices and resolve discrepancies.
Compliance & Risk Management
Maintain compliance with employment laws and company policies.
Manage I-9 documentation, personnel records, unemployment claims, and audit requests.
Support workers' compensation and related reporting requirements.
Partnering with managers and union representatives to address employee relations matters, grievances, disciplinary actions, and contract compliance.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, union agreements, and company policies while supporting employee onboarding, performance management, workforce planning, and recordkeeping.
HRIS & Reporting
Maintain employee data within HR and payroll systems.
Generate HR, payroll, and workforce reports as requested.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3–5 years of Human Resources and Payroll administration experience in a unionized work environment, with demonstrated knowledge of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), union grievance processes, contract interpretation, seniority systems, wage administration, and payroll compliance related to union employees.
Knowledge of payroll processes, employee benefits, and employment practices.
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems preferred.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.
