Henry Ford Plymouth offers a fast-paced, community-focused environment for Medical Laboratory Scientists, specializing in generalist testing. Given the emphasis on STAT testing and quick turnaround times, MLS professionals must be highly organized, adept at multitasking, and strong critical thinkers. The hospital fosters a close-knit, family-like atmosphere with room for growth, supported by LEAN-focused operations. What You Will Do:

  • Get hands-on with routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and other body fluids—think of yourself as a detective solving medical mysteries!
  • Master both manual techniques and cutting-edge laboratory instruments to deliver spot-on results that matter.
  • Keep your technical skills sharp and your knowledge fresh so you can be the go-to expert in the lab.
  • Team up with healthcare providers to deliver the diagnostic information they need, when they need it—because timing is everything in healthcare.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework aligned to Medical Laboratory disciplineOR Certification as a BB, C, CG, CT, M, MB OR meets AAB/AMT certification requirements.
  • Six months of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification at the technologist or medical/clinical lab scientist level from a nationally recognized agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT, ASM, AAB, AABB, ACS, or HEW).
