The posting

The Company:

Hexagon Mining solves surface and underground mine challenges with proven technologies for planning, operations, and safety. Our solutions address challenges across the entire mining process, and cover a broad spectrum of technologies from desktop and cloud software, to software-hardware systems deeply integrated into mining trucks, shovels, drills, and more. Our engineering team has offices in several nations around the world.

Purpose of Position:

The purpose of the Engineering Coordinator (EC) role is to support a high-performing engineering team that delivers valuable, technically sound solutions for Hexagon Mining customers. The EC reports to, and supports, the Engineering Manager (EM) or similar lead for a product, platform, or technology area. As directed by the EM, the EC role is focused on supporting and monitoring team and company processes including the engineering side of requirements management; technical project management, issue triage; recruiting; product release processes; and more. The EC helps manage the processes, tracks execution, gathers data, and produces reports, nudges team members, and ensures that stakeholders are kept up to date.

The EC is a semi-technical role. The EC must rapidly become familiar with the technical component, its overall architecture, major quality concerns, delivery constraints, and customer problems as part of executing the relevant team processes. The EC is not directly responsible for defining or prioritizing technical tasks, resolving defects, guiding technical direction, or interacting with customers – but may be responsible for helping the Engineering Manager ensure that all these things are done in a good and timely manner.

The EC role collaborates with ECs on other engineering teams, Product Managers, Project Managers, and other functions as necessary to help their team produce solutions that are timely, valuable, usable, technically sound, maintainable, and supportable.

The Engineering Coordinator has responsibility for processes such as:

  • Supporting the Engineering Manager in defining new projects
  • Tracking and reporting on technical project execution
  • Facilitating internal technical task management using the team’s chosen methodology (Scrum, Kanban, bespoke, etc.)
  • Planning and supporting project milestone demonstrations and acceptance testing
  • Monitoring and reporting on technical health and quality of the team's product, platform, or technology area
  • Supporting the Engineering Manager in recruiting and team building

Knowledge and Experience - Required:

  • Strong written and oral English communication skills
  • Strong people skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Significant prior experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience with technical project management

Knowledge and Experience - Desired:

  • Experience with product requirements management.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with Github
  • Experience working with remote and hybrid teams
  • Experience working across time zones

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
