Chef – Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna Location: Gretna, NEService Line: Hillcrest Highlands of GretnaSchedule: Full-time Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a dependable, talented, and service-focused Chef to join our culinary team at Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna. As a Chef, you will prepare high-quality hot and cold food while helping create a dining experience residents can genuinely look forward to. You will work across multiple dining venues, ensuring meals are prepared accurately, presented well, served on time, and produced in a clean and safe kitchen environment. As a Chef, you will have the opportunity to bring creativity, consistency, and care to every meal you prepare. What You’ll Do As a Chef, you will be responsible for food preparation and production while supporting smooth culinary operations throughout Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna. You will:
Prepare hot and cold food items according to established recipes and standards. Plate meals according to presentation, portion, and plating expectations. Set up hot and cold lines for meal service. Prepare food for multiple dining venues throughout the community. Complete daily food-production lists. Ensure meals and food items are prepared and served accurately and on time. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area. Follow established sanitation and infection-control standards. Assist with receiving and properly storing food deliveries. Complete deep cleaning of kitchen equipment and work areas. Support deli tray preparation and delivery as needed. Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and consistency. Work collaboratively with culinary team members to keep meal service running smoothly. Follow required food-safety, sanitation, and training standards. Assist with additional culinary responsibilities as needed.

The right candidate will be organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen. You should be someone who notices the details, understands the importance of food safety and sanitation, and is willing to jump in wherever needed to support the culinary team. Ideal candidates will have:
A passion for food and creating a positive dining experience. Previous line-cooking, restaurant, hotel, senior living, or similar culinary experience preferred. Strong attention to food quality, presentation, and portion consistency. Ability to follow recipes and established preparation standards. Strong organization and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities during busy meal periods. Knowledge of food-safety and sanitation practices. A dependable and team-focused approach. Ability to work independently while remaining part of a collaborative culinary team. Flexibility and a willingness to assist wherever needed.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. At least two years of hotel or restaurant line-cooking experience preferred.

Physical & Other Requirements
Must be able to speak, read, and write English. Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds. Must be able to perform repetitive standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and movement throughout the shift. Must be flexible and calm when working in a fast-paced culinary environment. Must demonstrate strong attention to detail. Must be able to utilize technology and available resources efficiently and effectively. Must follow established food-safety, sanitation, and infection-control standards. Other duties as assigned.
