Role Summary

The Field Deployment Technician is responsible for the installation and commissioning of Hivebotics' restroom cleaning robot deployed at client sites. This is a hands-on mechanical/electromechanical role suited to someone who is comfortable working independently in the field and wants to grow with a fast-moving robotics startup.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and handover of robotic systems at client locations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and basic software/sensor faults; carry out minor repairs or component replacement on site.
  • Maintain accurate daily records, fault logs, and reports for each site visit.
  • Provide basic operational training to client site staff where required.
  • Travel to client sites across Singapore.

Requirements

  • Minimum Higher NITEC in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in mechanical, electromechanical, or robotics field service, maintenance, or technical support.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical assemblies, basic electrical wiring, and fault diagnosis; robotics or automation exposure is a strong advantage.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and basic diagnostic/test equipment.
  • Able to work independently on site with minimal supervision, and to make sound judgment calls under time pressure.
  • Good communication skills in English; able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical site staff.
  • Willingness to be on occasional night deployments (9pm-6am)
