ABOUT THE ROLE – SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

Our client's engineering team designs and implements software solutions for a variety of customers primarily based in the US and Western Europe. The company is heavily engaged in implementing video processing, streaming, and live broadcasting solutions and providing quality assurance services and IT consultancy for start-ups, small- and medium-sized companies, and established corporations from various industries. They build dedicated software teams to help their partners deliver rapidly and reliably cutting-edge engineering solutions.

To facilitate the smooth operation and flawless experience for their colleagues and customers, they are looking for a professional with the right attitude to join and support their not-so-complex infrastructure and co-workers’ software/hardware environments.

YOUR ROLE:

In your daily work you will:

  • Manage network servers and related services, mostly running on Debian GNU/Linux such as Apache/Nginx, Jira, GitLab+git, wiki, VoIP/SIP, DNS zones, LDAP, MySQL;
  • Install and configure computer software and hardware (laptops, servers, network devices, etc.);
  • Perform PC and office hardware and software maintenance – e.g., replace defective PC parts, configure printers/scanners, etc.;
  • Monitor hardware performance, plan hardware failures, and propose parts replacements;
  • Set up user accounts – e.g. Google Workspace, Microsoft accounts, VPN, Slack, Jira, Confluence, Password Managers;
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages; communicate with vendors such as Internet providers;
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements;
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls – follow certified ISO 9001 procedures;
  • Maintain an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies;
  • Collaborate with technical and nontechnical counterparts and respond to tickets received from different departments.
