Analog Circuit Design Engineer
You will be part of the team that is responsible for delivering our high speed SERDES interfaces for IBM Power and Z microprocessors in advanced 3nm technologies and beyond. You will also help your new team transition the high-speed IO architecture from NMZ to PAM4 in support of future IBM microprocessors. You will use a combination of industry standard and IBM proprietary tools to design, simulate, and layout your circuits. You will have an opportunity to work on transmitter, receiver, PLL, or other analog designs. You will learn what it takes to develop and deliver complex analog circuits for IBM products.
Responsibilities:
- Perform schematic level design using Cadence design tools
- Perform in-depth circuit analysis using Spectre and spice simulators
- Analyze the design for manufacturability and end of life requirements
- Develop various scripts to parse data using languages like Python
- Understanding of analog circuit design theory and circuit design analysis
- Projects in RTL design using Verilog/VHDL
- Projects in Analog or PLL design
- Python, C/C++, TCL skills
- Inter-discipline design experience
- Having taken an Analog Circuit Design course
- Understanding of Interface terminology such as NMZ, PAM4, CTLE, DFE, PLLs, RX, TX and how these work within a High-Speed interface
