Job description

Position: Senior Business Analyst Location: On-site - Fort Lauderdale, FL, Hybrid, 4 days In Office + 1 day remote

THE ROLE: Own the development and ongoing improvement of business intelligence dashboards and reporting solutions, enabling reliable, consistent and timely information for business decisions. Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and integrated reporting solutions that bring together commercial, operational and financial data and translate complex information into actionable insights for senior leadership. Power BI is the primary delivery platform for this position. Tableau experience is welcome as transferable dashboard-development experience; the successful candidate will be expected to build and maintain solutions in Power BI. Strong SQL skills and an upstream-first data modeling approach are central to the role.

TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, maintain and continuously improve Power BI dashboards and management reports that clearly communicate business performance and key metrics.
  • Use SQL to query, transform, integrate and validate large datasets; investigate discrepancies and resolve data-quality issues affecting reporting accuracy.
  • Develop integrated analytical datasets combining financial, commercial and operational information to support consistent, scalable reporting.
  • Design and maintain reusable, analytics-ready models upstream of Power BI (for example, SQL views), with well-defined relationships and business logic. Minimize unnecessary Power Query transformations and complex report-level modeling where upstream processing is more maintainable or efficient.
  • Optimize end-to-end performance by reviewing SQL query patterns and Power BI visual/DAX performance.
  • Lead stakeholder discovery sessions, including business leadership, to frame business questions, clarify KPI definitions, prioritize requirements and translate needs into technical reporting solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted analytical partner to senior stakeholders; explain findings and trade-offs clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Apply reporting governance practices, including deployment controls, appropriate security such as row-level security, documentation and validation before release.
  • Ensure data consistency, transparency and dependable ongoing support of reports and analytical processes.
  • Maintain documented metric definitions, source-to-report lineage, testing and release practices; proactively identify opportunities to simplify the reporting catalog and reduce duplicated business logic.
  • Support BI adoption through concise documentation, user enablement and guidance on how to interpret dashboards and metrics.
  • Independently manage competing requests, communicate milestones, risks and dependencies, and propose pragmatic solutions to complex reporting problems.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Excel-based reports, financial and operational analyses, and data reconciliations to support business reporting needs.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation between Excel, Power BI, and underlying source systems, identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain data accuracy, integrity, and consistency.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance or related field; equivalent relevant experience considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant analytics / BI experience, or an equivalent combination of advanced education and experience, with demonstrated ownership of complex reporting deliverables.
  • Demonstrated hands-on development of production dashboards using Power BI or Tableau, including dashboard usability, filtering, drill-down and performance considerations.
  • Strong SQL proficiency, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregation, troubleshooting and query tuning; able to build reusable reporting datasets independently.
  • Strong analytical judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to validate results and present conclusions clearly to senior business stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience building and maintaining complex reports, performing data reconciliations, and working with large datasets. Strong knowledge of formulas, PivotTables, lookup functions, and data analysis techniques is required.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented working style and ability to collaborate across teams while independently driving deliverables.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Direct experience with Power BI, including DAX, semantic models, performance diagnostics, Power BI Service, refresh management and deployment practices.
  • Experience with upstream SQL-based dimensional modeling (fact/dimension design, star schemas), data warehouses or lakehouses, and ETL pipelines; familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or comparable cloud data platforms.
  • Experience with SaaS business models and metrics such as ARR, MRR, bookings, billings, renewals, churn and pipeline; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
  • Experience improving data refresh reliability, dataset efficiency, testing/monitoring and scalable BI governance.

Job benefits

  • Health, dental, vision, and prescription benefits (employee premiums covered by IGEL)
  • 11 company-paid holidays per year
  • 18-22 days of PTO per year (18 days in year 1, 20 days starting in year 2 and 22 days after 5 years of service)
  • Sick time of 10 days per year, with rollover of unused days up to maximum limit
  • 401(k) plan with 100% company match, up to $15,000 per year
  • Paid maternity and paternity leave
  • Monthly home office allowance
  • Remote working opportunities and flexible working times, so you can combine your demanding work with your personal goals
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Financial Wellness tool
  • Company-paid life insurance policy, long-term disability (LTD), and short-term disability (STD) coverage
  • Wellbeing apps, including Rightway, Headspace and Wellhub
  • Training and development opportunities to advance your career
  • President’s Club for the highest performing salespeople and overachievers
  • An amazing culture powered by a workplace run on trust, empowerment, and feedback with a positive, inspiring working atmosphere
  • A highly motivated team that is already looking forward to your support in developing strategies and achieving common goals, together with you!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
