Job Overview We are seeking a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon to provide expert medical consultation and testimony services as an independent contractor. This unique opportunity allows you to expand your professional expertise into the fascinating world of forensic medicine and legal consultation.

In this role, you will review medical records, provide expert opinions, conduct independent medical examinations, and testify in legal proceedings related to orthopedic injuries and conditions. You'll work with both prosecution and defense attorneys, ensuring objective medical analysis that serves the pursuit of justice.

  • Record Review & Analysis: Review medical records, imaging studies, and other documentation related to orthopedic injuries and conditions
  • Report Writing: Prepare comprehensive written reports and expert opinions based on medical record review and examination findings
  • Independent Medical Examinations: Conduct thorough medical examinations of plaintiffs/defendants as requested
  • Expert Testimony: Provide expert testimony at depositions, trials, and other legal proceedings via telephone, video conference, or in-person appearance
  • Case Consultation: Collaborate with attorneys to provide medical expertise and strategic insights
  • Professional Development: Stay current with medical literature, research, and developments in orthopedic medicine and surgery
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed time records and submit accurate invoices in accordance with company procedures
  • Travel: Out-of-state travel may be required with short notice for testimony and examinations

Required Education, Experience and Skills

Education & Licensure: • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree • Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery • Current, unrestricted medical license in good standing • Maintenance of appropriate certifications and continuing education requirements

Experience: • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in orthopedic surgery • Previous expert witness or forensic consultation experience preferred

Skills & Competencies: • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to explain complex medical concepts in layman's terms • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities • Professional demeanor and appearance for testimony • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines without oversight • Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer systems

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
