As a Laundry Supervisor, you'll play an important leadership role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by overseeing the daily operations of the Laundry Department and ensuring hotel linen, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry are processed and presented to the high standards expected. Working closely with the Housekeeping team and other departments, you'll lead and support the Laundry team, maintain efficient operations, and ensure consistent service delivery.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing daily Laundry operations, ensuring efficient workflows and service delivery in line with IHG brand standards.
  • Leading, supervising and supporting the Laundry team to maintain productivity, teamwork and high-quality standards.
  • Coordinating daily workloads, allocating tasks and managing staff rosters to meet operational demands.
  • Ensuring hotel linen, towels, uniforms and guest laundry are processed, inspected and delivered to the required standard and timeframe.
  • Managing guest laundry requests, VIP priorities and special requirements, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Monitoring linen, chemical and operating supply levels, including stocktakes and inventory control.
  • Ensuring laundry equipment is maintained, serviced and operated safely and efficiently.
  • Conducting team briefings, staff inductions, training and ongoing performance development.
  • Maintaining strong communication with Housekeeping and other departments to support smooth daily operations.
  • Ensuring the laundry is clean, organised and compliant with workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Monitoring departmental costs, controlling expenses and implementing sustainable practices.

Base rate $31.75 + penalties + loading

To be successful in this part-time role, you will have:

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a hotel, resort or commercial laundry environment.
  • Sewing experience, including sewing on buttons and completing minor garment repairs, is highly desirable and considered an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial laundry operations, equipment and linen care.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and presentation standards.
  • Experience in staff rostering, stock control and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety and safe work practices.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required.
