In this Role You Will:

  • Serve as the formal line manager for assigned Site Operations personnel, including Clinical Trial Associates, Clinical Research Associates and Clinical Trial Managers, and other roles as assigned.
  • Recruit, onboard, coach, develop, and retain team members who meet role requirements and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative Clinical Operations culture.
  • Set individual objectives, provide regular and meaningful performance feedback, conduct formal performance evaluations, and support career development, succession planning, and promotion readiness.
  • Create an environment of trust, accountability, inclusion, and psychological safety while addressing performance or conduct concerns promptly and appropriately.
  • Ensure team members maintain the training, qualifications, competencies, and functional knowledge required for their assigned responsibilities.
  • Partner with the Clinical Operations Leads (COLs) to ensure study roles, priorities, timelines and deliverables are clear, serving as a point of escalation and receive study-performance feedback on team members.

Resource and Capacity Management

  • Maintain visibility of team capacity, capabilities, workload, and development needs; lead resource forecasting and cross-study workload balancing in consultation with the Head of Clinical Operations.
  • Assign or reassign Site Operations personnel to studies based on portfolio priorities, required competencies, workload, continuity needs, and development opportunities, in consultation with the relevant Clinical Operations Leads.
  • Identify current and future capacity gaps and recommend hiring, contractor support, capability development, or other resource solutions.

Functional Process Ownership and Operational Excellence

  • Own, develop, maintain, and harmonize designated Site Operations and Clinical Operations processes, SOPs, work instructions, guidance documents, templates, and training materials in partnership with relevant stakeholders and Quality.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of applicable Clinical Operations processes and standards across studies and regions while accommodating appropriate local requirements in Germany and the United States.
  • Drive continuous improvement and global harmonization through review of lessons learned, recurring issues, metrics, audit and inspection observations, CAPAs, and user feedback.
  • Establish and monitor functional metrics and key performance indicators relevant to Site Operations, resource utilization, process quality, and organizational effectiveness; identify trends and implement improvement actions as appropriate.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
