The posting

We are seeking a self-driven and independent Business Transformation Manager/Senior Manager for one of our shipping clients. This role will lead the design and continuous improvement of business processes to drive operational efficiency, enhance performance, and reduce costs, focusing on Strategy, Systems, and Projects. The ideal candidate should have at least 8 years of relevant experience in liner shipping, with a preference for experience in operations and Marine Operations Systems product design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Process Design & Enhancement: Spearhead the creation and ongoing refinement of business processes to improve operational efficiency, optimize performance, and minimize costs. This includes drafting standard operating procedures (SOPs) and developing visual process flow diagrams.
  • Identifying & Addressing Process Gaps: Proactively assess workflows across headquarters and agencies to uncover inefficiencies and gaps, then implement effective solutions to streamline and improve operations.
  • Optimization & Automation of Processes: Actively seek opportunities to enhance processes and integrate automation for critical operational tasks, reducing reliance on manual work and boosting productivity across the board.
  • IT System Support & Coordination: Manage the operational support for systems, work closely with IT teams and third-party vendors to define requirements, conduct testing, and ensure the timely delivery of system upgrades or new functionalities.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Own the creation and distribution of performance reports for OPPC, focusing on key metrics like Agency KPIs and Terminal Velocity. Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with teams to implement corrective measures.
  • Agility & Change Initiatives: Contribute to the consolidation and implementation of agility programs within the division to drive greater responsiveness and flexibility in operations.
  • Project Management Support: Lead and support various cross-departmental projects, including those within Liner Operations, Ports & Terminals, Special Cargo, and Dangerous Goods (DG). Ensure smooth and efficient project execution.
  • Additional Duties as Required: Take on other tasks as needed to support the evolving priorities of the division and contribute to organizational growth.
  • Strategic Process Alignment: Ensure all processes are aligned with the company's long-term strategy and business objectives, helping drive overall success.
  • Managing Change: Lead the adoption of new tools, processes, and technologies across departments, guiding teams through the transition and ensuring successful implementation.
  • Process Evaluation & Optimization: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of processes and ensure they are continuously improved.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that processes meet their expectations and align with business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Maritime Studies, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in liner shipping, ideally within operational functions. Experience in Marine Operations Systems product design is a plus.
  • Familiarity with business process management, automation initiatives, and big data tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • A self-motivated and adaptable individual with a strong analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, along with the capacity to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Capable of leading discussions and influencing key stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive to anticipate and address potential process issues.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
