The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the liner shipping or transportation industry, with strong analytical skills and a good understanding of vessel capacity management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee allocation and capacity management for designated ship systems and trades.
  • Create voyage and customer allocations in alignment with TM Pricing & Steering.
  • Define allocation management measures to control booking uptake in line with trade strategies, including managing contribution baselines for cargo acceptance.
  • Monitor and forecast voyage utilisation based on booking developments and initiate corrective measures when required.
  • Monitor key connections between services at transshipment ports and implement corrective booking acceptance measures where necessary.
  • Monitor booking uptake and follow up with relevant TM Pricing & Steering teams and internal Cargo Controllers handling other ship systems.
  • Manage waitlisted shipments and prioritise cargo for loading or shut-out, taking into consideration commercial requirements, operational constraints and costs.
  • Drive Cargo Control KPIs, including vessel utilisation, QP3 (Fast Booking Response), QP7 (Loaded as Booked) and dwell time reduction.
  • Minimise operational costs associated with cargo flows, including renomination and storage costs.
  • Liaise with ship planners (internal or partner lines) on vessel space availability and operational restrictions, such as draft, ballast, bunker and stack weight limitations.
  • Coordinate special cargo approval applications, including out-of-gauge (OOG) and flexitank cargo, with planners and partner lines.
  • Work closely with QSCs and GCC on customer service and cargo operations matters, including vessel balancing, terminal build-up and load lists.
  • Collaborate with TM Pricing & Steering and the Commercial Organisation on booking developments, market conditions and cargo uptake performance.
  • Provide input on schedule recovery measures in collaboration with Operations.
  • Prepare tactical forecasts based on expected booking developments, including connecting services, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Provide input on additional capacity requirements, including shuttle or feeder space, when necessary.

Requirements

  • Degree in Shipping, Transportation or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the liner shipping or transportation industry.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
