  • Monitor dry-docking progress, workmanship, project costs and variations to repair specifications.
  • Prepare dry-docking budgets, monitor expenditures and assist in cost control and final repair bill negotiations.
  • Prepare regular progress updates, technical reports and post-docking completion reports for management.
  • Provide technical advice and support on vessel structural and mechanical issues, ensuring compliance with classification society requirements and industry standards.
  • Plan and coordinate voyage repairs and riding maintenance to minimise vessel downtime and optimise dry-docking periods.
  • Participate in vessel pre-purchase inspections, fleet condition assessments, life extension studies and other technical projects as required.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ship Construction or a related maritime discipline.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vessel structural repairs, hull coating systems, mechanical equipment, piping and hydraulic systems.
  • Good understanding of ship repair practices, classification society requirements, IACS standards and QHSSE procedures.
  • Proven experience in planning and supervising vessel dry-docking projects, including preparation of repair specifications, budgeting and cost control.
  • Membership in a recognised professional body such as IMarEST or RINA would be advantageous.
  • Possess good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Must be willing and able to travel extensively (approximately 50–70% of the time) for vessel inspections, dry-docking assignments and occasional sailing onboard vessels.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
