The posting

Company Description

People from all over the world come here to work, live, visit and experience the destination Älmhult and IKEA. It is a place where ideas become reality, where different perspectives meet and where we work together to create experiences that matter to co-workers, guests and the many people.

At IKEA Älmhult AB, around 270 co-workers develop and operate IKEA Museum, IKEA Hotell, restaurants, meeting places and experiences that make Älmhult a destination in its own right. As we continue to grow and develop, we are looking for people who want to be part of the journey.

And this is where you come in.

Job Description

Great guest experiences often start with the first welcome. As Reception Team Leader, you will play an important role in shaping how guests experience IKEA Älmhult, leading part of the Reception team and ensuring excellent service throughout the guest journey.

In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operation of our reception areas daily operation in IKEA Hotell, IKEA Museum, Museum of furniture studies and Aktivitetshuset, creating a welcoming first impression and ensuring a smooth experience from arrival to departure. You will lead, support and develop Reception co-workers, helping them deliver great service while creating an engaging and high-performing team environment.

You will work closely with the Reception Manager and colleagues across Hospitality & Hotel to ensure efficient front office operations and strong daily performance. The role also includes handling guest inquiries, supporting service recovery, coordinating daily operations and contributing to commercial initiatives that strengthen both guest satisfaction and business results.

As a leader, you will coach and support your team, contribute to recruitment and succession planning, and help create a safe, inclusive and inspiring work environment where co-workers can grow and perform at their best.

Success in the role will be reflected in engaged co-workers, smooth daily operations and guests who consistently experience Älmhultish Hospitality. Through your team, you will help strengthen IKEA Älmhult as a destination.

In this role role will:

  • Lead and coordinate the daily work of the reception team, ensuring excellent service and smooth operations.
  • Coach, support and develop co-workers through clear expectations, feedback and daily leadership.
  • Ensure high-quality guest experiences throughout arrival, stay and departure.
  • Support service recovery, guest communication and handling of more complex guest situations.
  • Drive commercial initiatives such as upselling, cross-selling and guest engagement activities together with the team.
  • Contribute to improvements in routines, ways of working and service delivery.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who enjoys leading people, creating great guest experiences and taking an active role in daily operations.

You have a strong service mindset and understand how small details can make a big difference to the overall guest experience. You are comfortable making decisions, solving problems and supporting others in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Experience from reception, hospitality, hotel operations or another guest-facing service environment will be valuable. Equally important is your ability to build trust, create engagement and lead by example.

We believe you have:

  • Experience from reception, front office, hospitality or another guest-facing service environment.
  • Experience leading, coordinating or coaching people in daily operations.
  • Ability to prioritize, make decisions and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with both guests and co-workers.
  • Experience handling guest concerns, service recovery or similar customer situations.
  • Ability to create structure, follow routines and contribute to continuous improvement.

This is an opportunity to lead from the front and play a key role in how guests experience IKEA Älmhult every day. You will combine operational leadership, hospitality and team development while working in an international environment where people, culture and guest experiences are at the heart of what we do. If you enjoy leading by example, supporting others and creating memorable guest experiences, we would love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
