Overview

The Sr. Director, Pipeline Commercial Strategy will own the commercial assessment of Iovance's pipeline assets, including market sizing, target product profiles and competitive analysis. This role brings deep commercial domain expertise to quantify market opportunities, shape portfolio and indication strategy, and ensure disciplined execution of priority workstreams from early, upstream pipeline development. This commercial subject matter expert will proactively identify what needs to be done, define the path forward, and drive the organization to execute.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Senior commercial strategy role owning the commercial assessment of pipeline assets and indication expansions including market sizing and addressable market analysis, target product profiles (TPPs), competitive analysis, and representing reimbursement market analysis from early development through launch
  • Defines and drives actionable commercial strategies, workplans, timelines, and readiness deliverables grounded in deep knowledge of oncology markets, treatment paradigms, and cell therapy commercialization
  • Represents Commercial in established enterprise forums such as PDT and GDT, operating as the strategic integrator who drives alignment through expertise

New Product Planning & Portfolio Strategy

  • Build market sizing and addressable market analyses by tumor type, line of therapy, and geography, using epidemiology, treatment-flow, and claims data to quantify the commercial opportunity
  • Develop and maintain commercially grounded target product profiles (TPPs) for pipeline assets, defining the efficacy, safety, dosing, and differentiation thresholds needed to compete in each target indication
  • Own competitive analysis and scenario planning for pipeline indications, tracking competitor programs, data readouts, and approvals, modeling competitive entry, label variation, treatment landscape shifts, and outpatient usage opportunities, and defining the differentiation strategy for Iovance assets
  • Drive portfolio prioritization, forecasting, and commercial recommendations to inform Go/No-Go decisions for registrational trials
  • Lead early commercial assessments for pipeline assets, indication expansions, in-licensing opportunities, acquisitions, and business development evaluations, applying deep market knowledge to shape investment decisions
  • Provide commercial input on tumor target, indication, and launch market selection, including signal-finding studies and investigator-sponsored trials (ISTs) that support future registrational trials
  • Partner with Clinical Development and project teams to influence clinical milestones, trial design assumptions, accelerated or regular approval pathways, and regional commercialization considerations based on commercial viability and market dynamics
  • Own launch trackers, readiness scorecards, risk registers, and milestone dashboards as strategic tools using them to anticipate issues and drive proactive decision-making, not simply report status
  • Must adhere to Iovance Biotherapeutics’ core values, policies, procedures, and business ethics.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree such as MBA, MPH, PharmD, PhD, or relevant graduate degree preferred
  • Typically 10+ years (Sr. Director/Director) of biopharmaceutical, biotech, oncology, cell therapy, specialty medicine, commercial strategy, launch planning, brand strategy, market access, consulting, or related experience
  • Hands-on experience building market sizing and addressable market models, target product profiles, competitive assessments, and reimbursement or payer analyses for oncology or cell therapy assets
  • Deep commercial domain expertise, this role requires someone who has personally shaped commercial strategy and made market-facing decisions, not solely managed timelines or coordinated workstreams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives, develop strategic recommendations grounded in data, and influence senior stakeholders through expertise and credibility
  • Track record of leading product launches, new product planning, commercial assessments, forecasting, portfolio strategy, or launch readiness, as a strategic driver, not a project manager
  • Strong executive presence, written communication, analytical thinking, and ability to influence without authority in a matrixed environment

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
