ispaceUS is seeking a hands-on Electrical Test Engineer to develop and execute testing strategies that ensure the performance, durability, and long-term reliability of our spaceflight hardware. This role will work closely across hardware, software, manufacturing, and quality teams to design innovative test solutions, automate testing and analysis, and identify potential failures before our systems leave the ground.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, train and oversee reliability test strategies for product and the subcomponents of the product to maximize space life and eliminate early life failures.
  • Design and execute novel environmental, RF, and electrical testing techniques tailored to the product and its functions.
  • Collaborate with design teams to plan and execute projects, including modifications, repairs, calibrations and routine maintenance of equipment such as racks, enclosures, and DAQs for the system and component level testing.
  • Write test programs to exercise functionality of the product and its subcomponents over various conditions and environments.
  • Automate reliability testing initiatives and reporting using proprietary visualization techniques and through knowledge of the product and its functions.
  • Work collaboratively with hardware, software and network engineering teams to maximize reliability across all disciplines.
  • Define the ongoing reliability of testing strategies to monitor the manufacturing process health and screen for long term reliability defects caused by process and component variability.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation to guide installations, troubleshooting, and upgrades of support equipment.
  • Collaborate in team meetings and activities.
  • Provide basic on-site technical assistance for operations during scheduled maintenance and testing activities, ensuring equipment is used safely and correctly

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an electrical engineering discipline and . We will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
  • 3+ years of electrical test engineering experience
  • Test Software experience (ex. C++, Python, Labview, Simulink)
  • In-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of operations, engineering and quality.
  • Good working knowledge of ISO, AS9100 and quality control standards.
  • Experience with operations, engineering and quality processes along with their principles.
  • Ability to work with a team along with providing guidance to drive improvements towards process efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and liaison skills as an individual.
  • Ability to work well within a team driven culture.
  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a engineering as well as manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • Engineering knowledge of programming test applications as well as strong knowledge of electronics including the ability to generate/read schematics, assembly drawings, and parts lists.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • AS9100 industry with SPACE experience is a plus.
  • PCB Design Experience (Altium)
  • Experience building, designing, and testing wire harnesses
  • Prior ETE experience a plus.
  • Experience in startup environment a plus
