Purpose of the role

The candidate for this role will be responsible for creating, managing, and delivering high-quality written and visual content across digital and marketing platforms, combining content creation with graphic design to strengthen brand consistency, audience engagement, and content performance while supporting the organisation’s marketing and communications objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Management

  • Develop creative and compelling content for the organisation’s website, social media channels, newsletters, promotional materials, and other communication platforms.
  • Write clear, concise, and accurate content communicating product information, game rules, winners’ stories, and responsible gaming messages.
  • Manage the content calendar and ensure timely publication across relevant digital platforms.
  • Contribute to content strategies aligned with marketing objectives and target audience preferences.
  • Research industry trends, competitor activities, audience preferences, and content best practices to strengthen content strategy.
  • Optimize digital content for SEO to improve online visibility and organic search performance.

Brand Voice, Storytelling & Communications

  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and tone across all content in line with organisational values, messaging, and objectives.
  • Craft compelling stories highlighting winners’ experiences and the positive impact of lottery funds on communities.
  • Develop content that promotes responsible gaming and engages audiences through effective storytelling techniques.
  • Develop and implement winners’ communication strategies for social media using creative content to amplify winners’ stories.
  • Collaborate with marketing, design, customer support, and other internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation.

Social Media & Digital Content

  • Create engaging social media content, including captions, articles, promotional content, and other digital assets.
  • Manage and monitor digital content across relevant social media platforms.
  • Use social media analytics tools to monitor engagement, reach, impressions, conversion rates, and other relevant performance indicators.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine content strategies and improve future content performance.
  • Identify potential partnerships with relevant influencers, bloggers, and content creators to expand audience reach.

Compliance & Responsible Gaming

  • Ensure all content complies with applicable laws, regulations, ethical requirements, and organisational policies.
  • Ensure communication promotes responsible gaming and does not encourage participation by underage persons.
  • Ensure content does not use inappropriate references such as children or alcohol in responsible gaming communications.
  • Develop educational content explaining lottery products, odds, game mechanics, and responsible gaming practices to support informed customer decisions.
  • Ensure all outgoing visual and written content meets required quality, brand, and compliance standards.

Graphic Design & Visual Content

  • Develop visually appealing and engaging content across digital and print platforms.
  • Apply brand guidelines consistently across logos, colour schemes, typography, imagery, and other visual elements.
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant creative software to produce high-quality design assets.
  • Evaluate the relevance and quality of graphics, animations, layouts, and other visual materials.
  • Create presentations and other visual materials supporting marketing, sales, asset retention, and business objectives.
  • Apply knowledge of computer graphics, traditional design methods, and printing techniques to ensure quality and cost-effective deliverables.
  • Develop creative concepts and design solutions that respond effectively to communication and marketing requirements.

Creative Planning & Development

  • Develop creative concepts in line with project briefs, requirements, deadlines, and brand guidelines.
  • Evaluate design concepts against current trends and established practices within the broader design industry.
  • Explore creative solutions to design and communication challenges.
  • Make recommendations to management on design improvements, creative concepts, and industry best practices.
  • Support external creative agencies to deliver projects according to approved briefs, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Manage creative projects from concept to completion while maintaining effective communication on project status.

Quality, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor content and creative performance using relevant analytics and reporting tools.
  • Evaluate content effectiveness and use insights to improve future campaigns and communication.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, proofreading, and attention to detail across all deliverables.
  • Keep up to date with emerging technologies, design tools, social media trends, and digital communication practices.
  • Participate in relevant training, webinars, conferences, and other professional development activities.
  • Maintain systematic filing, version control, backup, and retrieval of business documents, creative files, images, and other digital assets.
  • Support cross-functional and special projects as required by management.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management in support of organisational objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, Multimedia, or a related field.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, Multimedia, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proven portfolio demonstrating a variety of design styles, creative deliverables, and consistent quality.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, After Effects, and InDesign.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the gaming industry is an advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge of gaming products and services is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of visual communication and interactive media design.
  • Proven experience creating engaging social media content, including captions, articles, and promotional materials.
  • Knowledge of social media analytics tools and content performance measurement.
  • Strong understanding of branding, visual identity, digital marketing, and content strategy.
  • Strong planning, organisation, time management, and deadline management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong creativity, conceptual thinking, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies, and diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements, technologies, trends, and audience preferences.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and deliverables simultaneously within defined timelines.
