‘Think Differently’ to inspire young people to overcome all barriers and achieve their dreams.
This is the Vision Statement of James Brindley School.
Do you want to have a positive impact on some of the most vulnerable children’s lives in Birmingham?
Do you want to work in an organisation that recognises the benefits of a good work/life balance for their workforce?
Do you want to work in an organisation that invests heavily in CPD and allocates additional training days to develop their staff?
If you have answered ‘yes’ to all these questions, join our team!
This is a particularly exciting time to join James Brindley, the founding school of the newly established Think Differently Education Trust. This marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for our community, opening up fresh opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and professional growth across Birmingham. By joining us now, you’ll be part of shaping a progressive trust from the ground up — helping to drive meaningful change for our young people while developing your own career in a supportive and ambitious environment.
The role involves teaching young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), many of whom have a diagnosis of Autism and a range of additional special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including complex mental health needs. Our pupils are unable to access mainstream education and often have significant gaps in their learning due to previous educational disruption.
We are committed to providing a highly personalised and inclusive learning environment that supports both academic and personal development. Through creative, adaptive and evidence-informed teaching approaches, we work to overcome barriers to learning, reduce the impact of educational disadvantage and enable every young person to make meaningful progress from their individual starting points.
We are seeking a passionate and resilient teacher who is committed to supporting the development of the whole child and enabling all young people to achieve their potential. The successful candidate will have experience working with young people with SEND, including Autism and medical needs, and will demonstrate tenacity, positivity and a strong commitment to inclusive practice. A National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) and a proven track record as a consistently effective classroom practitioner are essential.
If you have provided an email address, we will use that for correspondence.
