How You Will Make an Impact The Regional General Manager has multi-site P&L responsibility; responsible for overall management of multiple sites within Reading Truck Equipment. The position will provide day-today direction of all local functions including sales, manufacturing, finance, planning & logistics, quality & technology, HR and engineering. The position provides leadership and direction to the management team and all Team Members to accomplish business objectives, achieve customer satisfaction and create a positive working environment. While leading & developing a strong and effective team, the RGM is expected to advance the growth and penetration of products in new market applications, in developing markets, and within established market segments. The RGM will maintain the high standards around the company’s established principles of employee safety, quality, delivery, cost and people. The Nuts and Bolts
In collaboration with the Executive Team, oversees, develops, plans and sets a strategic direction for all aspects of the regional group. Develops, monitors, and publishes key performance indicators and drives continuous improvement including but not limited to: safety, sales, quality, delivery, material cost, working capital, labor productivity and employee morale. Manage performance ensuring profitability month over month; year over year Achieve financial goals by implementing effective systems for capital expenditures, operating expenditures and overhead Effectively analyzes sales data, identifying trends and developing effective strategies to increase sales and market share Works with Sales to maintain current customers and suggest new customer targets within local/regional jurisdiction Support sales relationships through direct interactions with key customers including visits, meetings, and reviews as may be necessary Provide vision and leadership to all employees Collaborate with other leaders in the organization to achieve shared objectives Champion a culture of customer-centric behaviors and problem solving; Maintain positive customer relations Motivate direct reports and manage the development of department staff Identify future leaders and develop bench strength within the organization Analyze, optimize and rationalize all assets of the operation Foster an environment of lean/continuous improvement
Required Credentials
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Business, Industrial & Systems, Manufacturing or Design Engineering) is preferred; MBA is preferred 10+ years of management is required, preferably in a customized vehicle operations setting such as truck equipment or up-fit industry Manufacturing industry or background experience preferred Responsibility for one or more cost centers; plus responsibility for profit & loss statement(s) with total revenues >$15 MM, but <$50 MM Responsibility for several cost centers, plus responsibility for profit & loss statements with total revenues >$50 MM. Occasional (25%) to Frequent (50%)
