Scope:

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Workday professional who can translate business needs into effective technology solutions and drive initiatives from concept through delivery. The role will support a broad portfolio of HR Technology initiatives, with particular focus on areas such as Talent, Performance, Compensation, Workday Security, Reporting & Analytics, and Workforce Planning.

The successful candidate will work closely with HR Technology team members, HR and business stakeholders, external partners, and our offshore delivery team to deliver solutions, resolve issues, and drive strategic initiatives forward.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with HR business stakeholders to translate HR and Talent strategies into scalable Workday solutions.
  • Lead Workday initiatives across areas such as Talent, Performance, Compensation, Security, Benefits, Reporting, and Core HCM.
  • Serve as a senior Workday subject matter expert and trusted advisor to HR, Talent, Compensation, IT, and business stakeholders.
  • Drive initiatives from requirements gathering and solution design through configuration, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
  • Assess business requirements, evaluate solution options, identify dependencies, and recommend practical and scalable technology solutions.
  • Design and optimize Workday business processes, workflows, approvals, notifications, validations, security controls, and exception handling.
  • Develop and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, calculated fields, data sources, prompts, filters, and analytics to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Support Workday Security initiatives, including security role design, access controls, business process security, security reviews, and troubleshooting.
  • Support Talent, Performance, and Compensation initiatives through solution design, process optimization, configuration, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Support workforce planning and financial planning initiatives, including Workday Adaptive Planning where applicable.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve HR processes using Workday capabilities and emerging HR technology.
  • Review solution designs, configurations, integrations, and impact assessments to ensure scalability, maintainability, security, compliance, and alignment with enterprise architecture.
  • Partner with the offshore HR Technology/Workday team by providing requirements, solution direction, guidance, and quality oversight.
  • Collaborate with external Workday consultants and implementation partners to ensure solutions meet business requirements and follow Workday best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex functional, reporting, security, and data issues and drive issues through resolution.
  • Participate in Workday releases, enhancements, integrations, production support, and major system changes.
  • Evaluate new Workday capabilities and help determine how they can support Blue Yonder's HR Technology strategy.
  • Work in an Agile/Scrum environment using Jira to manage epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, priorities, dependencies, and delivery.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 6+ years of Workday experience, with hands-on experience in Workday solution design, configuration, enhancements, and production support.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Workday HCM and experience in one or more areas such as Talent Optimization, Performance, Recruiting, or Adaptive Planning.
  • Strong experience with Workday Reporting, including Advanced, Composite, Matrix, and other reporting capabilities, as well as calculated fields, dashboards, prompts, filters, business objects, and data sources.
  • Experience translating HR/Talent business requirements and strategy into technology solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Workday business processes, configuration, security, data, and solution design.
  • Experience delivering Workday initiatives across the lifecycle, including requirements, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Experience with Talent, Performance, or Compensation solutions and processes is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Workday Skills Cloud, Career Hub, skills-based talent initiatives, job architecture, skills taxonomy, talent mobility, or related talent optimization capabilities is a plus.
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning or other workforce/financial planning technologies is a strong plus.
  • Experience working with offshore delivery teams and external implementation partners, including providing solution direction and reviewing deliverables.
  • Experience with Jira and Agile/Scrum delivery practices, including backlog management, user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint planning, and delivery.
  • Ability to independently drive initiatives, manage competing priorities, identify issues and dependencies, and move work forward.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex Workday concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Translate HR and Talent strategy into practical and scalable technology solutions.
  • Independently drive Workday initiatives from requirements through successful delivery.
  • Increase adoption and value from existing Workday capabilities while reducing unnecessary complexity.
  • Provide effective solution direction and partnership to the offshore delivery team and external partners.
  • Improve reporting, analytics, automation, security, and overall employee and manager experience.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
