Senior Project Manager - Fitout Projects
Location: Mumbai, India Department: Project and Development Services Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
JLL is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead fitout and interior construction projects for our clients in Mumbai. You will be responsible for managing the complete project lifecycle from planning through execution and handover, ensuring delivery to the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
Manage multiple fitout projects simultaneously from inception to completion, ensuring delivery within approved timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Develop comprehensive project execution plans including scope definition, resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management strategies. Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery. Monitor project progress against established milestones and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Client Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Understand client requirements and translate them into actionable project deliverables. Provide regular status updates and maintain transparent communication on project performance, issues, and opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships to drive repeat business and client satisfaction.
Financial & Contract Management
Prepare and manage project budgets, tracking costs and ensuring financial targets are met. Review and negotiate contractor quotations and variations. Administer contracts in accordance with agreed terms and conditions. Process payment certificates and manage financial reporting to clients.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, regulations, and JLL quality standards. Implement and monitor health and safety protocols on all project sites. Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits. Manage the defects liability period and ensure proper project closeout documentation.
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor project coordinators and junior team members. Coordinate with design teams, MEP consultants, and specialty contractors. Foster collaborative working relationships across all project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field. Minimum 12-15 years of experience managing commercial fitout and interior projects in India. Proven track record of successfully delivering projects ranging from 50,000 to 200,000+ square feet. Strong understanding of MEP systems, civil works, and interior finishes. Experience with corporate office fitouts, multinational client environments preferred.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera, or similar project management software. Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and ability to review technical drawings. Excellent command of MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Familiarity with BIM processes and coordination tools is advantageous. Understanding of Indian building codes, NBC regulations, and local municipal requirements.
