Отбирать пациентов на медицинскую реабилитацию . Формировать индивидуальную комплексную программу реабилитации каждому пациенту, определять последовательность использования средств и методов и конкретных исполнителей каждого её этапа. Оценивать эффективность использования как отдельных средств и методов реализации индивидуальной программы, так и её реализации в целом, используя современные методы оценки резервов систем организма. Привлекать в неясных случаях для консультации заведующего отделением и других специалистов лечебно-профилактической организации. Проводить разъяснительную работу с пациентами и их родственниками по вопросам режима питания, труда, быта и оздоровительной тренировки систем, обеспечивающих восстановление и поддержание здоровья и трудоспособности. Вести медицинскую документацию, установленные учётно-отчётные формы и составлять отчёты о своей деятельности. Обеспечивать преемственность в проведении медицинской реабилитации между стационаром, поликлиникой и другими структурными подразделениями организации здравоохранения. Оказывать консультативную и методическую помощь по вопросам медицинской реабилитации врачам стационара и амбулаторно-поликлинических организаций в районе деятельности отделения медицинской реабилитации. Осваивать и внедрять в практику новые современные методы и средства медицинской реабилитации. Руководить средним и младшим медицинским персоналом и обеспечивать повышение квалификации подчинёнными сотрудниками. Соблюдать врачебную тайну.

Умение оценивать реабилитационный статус пациента и его динамику на основании анализа жалоб, анамнеза, физикального обследования, клинических данных, результатов лабораторных и инструментальных исследований. Установление реабилитационного диагноза с характеристикой состояния функционирования и ограничения жизнедеятельности на основе Международной классификации функционирования, ограничений жизнедеятельности и здоровья (МКФ). Оценка реабилитационного потенциала, определяющего уровень максимально возможного восстановления пациента в намеченный отрезок времени. Формирование цели и задач проведения реабилитационных мероприятий. Оценка факторов риска проведения реабилитационных мероприятий и факторов, ограничивающих их проведение. Формирование и реализация индивидуального плана медицинской реабилитации. Оценка эффективности реализованных реабилитационных мероприятий. Составление заключения (реабилитационного эпикриза), содержащего реабилитационный статус, реабилитационный диагноз, реабилитационный потенциал, итоги реализации плана с описанием достигнутой динамики в состоянии пациента, оценку по шкале реабилитационной маршрутизации, рекомендации по дальнейшей тактике ведения пациента. Ведение учётной и отчётной документации, предоставление отчётов о медицинской деятельности.
