Оказание квалифицированной медицинской помощи по специальности с использованием современных методов профилактики, диагностики, лечения и реабилитации. Определение тактики ведения больного в соответствии с установленными правилами и стандартами. Разработка плана обследования больного, уточнение объёма и рациональных методов обследования пациента для получения полной и достоверной диагностической информации. Установка диагноза на основании клинических наблюдений и обследования, сбора анамнеза, данных клинико-лабораторных и инструментальных исследований. Назначение и контроль лечения, организация или самостоятельное проведение диагностических, лечебных, реабилитационных и профилактических процедур и мероприятий. Ежедневный осмотр больного в стационаре. Внесение изменений в план лечения в зависимости от состояния пациента и определение необходимости дополнительных методов обследования. Оказание консультативной помощи врачам других подразделений учреждения по своей специальности. Руководство работой подчинённого среднего и младшего медицинского персонала, содействие выполнению им своих должностных обязанностей. Контроль правильности проведения диагностических и лечебных процедур, эксплуатации инструментария, аппаратуры и оборудования, рационального использования реактивов и лекарственных препаратов. Участие в проведении занятий по повышению квалификации медицинского персонала. Планирование своей работы и анализ показателей своей деятельности. Обеспечение своевременного и качественного оформления медицинской и иной документации в соответствии с установленными правилами. Проведение санитарно-просветительной работы . Соблюдение правил и принципов врачебной этики и деонтологии. Участие в проведении экспертизы временной нетрудоспособности и подготовка необходимых документов для медико-социальной экспертизы. Оперативное принятие мер, включая своевременное информирование руководства, по устранению нарушений техники безопасности, противопожарных и санитарных правил. Систематическое повышение квалификации .
