Въездные ворота всегда должны быть закрыты в ночное время на замок. Всегда при себе иметь исправный мобильный телефон. При возникновении пожара на объекте извещать пожарную команду, сообщать о происшествии дежурному по отделению полиции, открыть ворота соответствующим службам, принимает соответствующие меры по ликвидации пожара. содержать территорию прилегающую к зданию, складам, гаражам в надлежащем состоянии (в летнее время подметает территорию, в зимнее время убирает снег), также своевременно загружать в зимний период уголь в печь для поддержания тепла на охраняемых объектах. Соблюдать чистоту и порядок в сторожке и около нее. Сторож должен докладывать руководителю обо всех выявленных нарушениях и недостатках в связи с выполняемой работой. Совершать внутренний обход охраняемой территории не менее 1 раз в час. В случаях обнаружения взломанных дверей, окон, стен, замков, немедленно сообщать руководителю, а при необходимости, и дежурному по отделению полиции. В этом случае осуществлять охрану следов преступления до прибытия представителей полиции. Своевременно включать и выключать уличное освещение. Во время обхода обращать внимание на состояние банеров на территории объекта. В период между обходами находится в сторожке. Во время работы запрещается просматривать видео и слушать музыку, также запрещается в ночное время присутствовать посторонним на территории охраняемого объекта. В отопительный период времени проверять целостность отопительной системы, наличие противопожарного инвентаря. Совершать наружный и внутренний обход отопительной системы, проверяя качество подаваемого тепла. При выявлении неисправностей отопительной системы, докладывать об этом лицу, которому он подчинен. Производит прием и сдачу дежурства, с соответствующей записью в журнале.

Сторож-кочегар должен знать: Границы охраняемого объекта. Номера телефонов дежурного по отделению полиции, пожарной охраны, больницы. Уметь применять огнетушитель по назначению согласно инструкции по эксплуатации. Отопление зданий и сооружений.
