Проводит лабораторные исследования, в том числе из материала, полученного от пациентов с ВИЧ-инфекцией в соответствии с возложенными на него обязанностями и квалификационными требованиями. Организует рабочее место для проведения лабораторных исследований. Организует работу вверенного ему раздела лаборатории. Участвует в освоении и внедрении новых методов лабораторной диагностики и лабораторного оборудования. Консультирует врачей-специалистов на этапе назначения клинических лабораторных исследований, консультирует медицинских работников и пациентов по особенностям взятия, транспортировки и хранения биологического материала. Консультирует медицинских работников и пациентов по правилам и методам проведения исследований при выполнении клинических лабораторных исследований по месту взятия биологического материала (по месту лечения). Анализирует результаты клинических лабораторных исследований, клиническая верификация результатов. Составляет клинико-лабораторное заключение по комплексу результатов клинических лабораторных исследований

Требования к квалификации: высшее образование (специалитет по одной из специальностей: "Лечебное дело", "Педиатрия", "Стоматология", "Медико-профилактическое дело", "Медицинская биохимия", "Фармация") и подготовка в интернатуре и (или) ординатуре по специальности "Клиническая лабораторная диагностика" или профессиональная переподготовка по специальности "Клиническая лабораторная диагностика" при наличии подготовки в интернатуре и (или) ординатуре по одной из основных специальностей или специальности, требующей дополнительной подготовки; высшее образование (специалитет по специальности "Медицинская биохимия" для специалистов, завершивших обучение с 2017 года).Наличие аккредитации специалиста.
