This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Account Executive III - South Atlantic based in United States.
This role focuses on retaining and expanding relationships with larger and more complex small and medium-sized business customers across an assigned territory. You will act as a trusted account partner, developing consultative retention strategies that protect revenue while creating opportunities for sustainable growth. The position combines customer relationship management, contract negotiation, revenue protection, and business development. You will work closely with sales and internal teams to resolve customer challenges, identify opportunities, and align solutions with evolving customer needs. Beyond managing your own book of business, you will also contribute to team development by mentoring account management and sales professionals. This opportunity is suited to an experienced B2B account management professional who can balance customer advocacy with commercial objectives.
Accountabilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer account management matters across an assigned book of business, maintaining strong customer satisfaction and long-term relationships.
- Develop and execute proactive retention strategies designed to protect revenue, achieve retention targets, and maintain mutually beneficial customer relationships.
- Align products and services with customer requirements while using consultative selling techniques to increase account penetration and identify additional opportunities.
- Negotiate, update, and renew customer service agreements, educating customers on contract terms and using effective negotiation strategies to maximize profitable business outcomes.
- Address complex customer requests and collaborate with internal sales leaders to resolve escalations and service issues effectively.
- Communicate rates, charges, service strategies, incentives, and concessions clearly while operating within appropriate profit targets and authorization levels.
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify opportunities within the assigned territory and connect customers with additional relevant business solutions when appropriate.
- Generate revenue growth by strengthening existing relationships, expanding networks, and capitalizing on cultivated customer and business connections.
- Maintain accurate customer and sales information using productivity and CRM tools, including Salesforce and pricing systems.
- Prepare required reports and complete administrative activities necessary to support effective account management.
- Mentor account management and sales professionals, including helping onboard new employees and supporting experienced team members with professional development.
- Share best practices and proactively contribute to the development of internal sales and account management talent.
- Must live and work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- At least 6 years of business-to-business account management experience at a mastery level.
- Strong consultative selling, customer relationship management, negotiation, and revenue retention skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex customer relationships and develop strategies that support both customer needs and commercial objectives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle challenging customer situations and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
- Ability to identify account expansion and revenue growth opportunities through relationship building and networking.
- Comfortable using CRM, sales productivity, pricing, reporting, and other business software tools.
- Ability to mentor colleagues, share best practices, and contribute to the development of other sales and account management professionals.
- Candidates currently working in an Account Executive role within the organization are strongly preferred.
- Expected U.S. base pay of $27.21 per hour.
