The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Analyst, Level 1, Onboarding KYX, UK based in India.

Join a growing financial technology environment dedicated to helping small and medium-sized businesses access secure, efficient, and reliable financial services. As an Onboarding KYX Analyst, you will play an essential role in protecting the integrity of the customer onboarding process by verifying identities, assessing business risks, and ensuring compliance with UK regulatory requirements. You will conduct thorough Know Your Customer (KYC) checks, including Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), to identify potential financial crime risks before customers are onboarded. Using internal systems, public records, and online research, you will gather and evaluate information to support accurate, risk-based decisions. Working within the first line of defence, you will collaborate with colleagues to strengthen compliance standards while delivering a smooth customer experience. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys investigative work, analytical problem-solving, and continuous process improvement.

Accountabilities:

  • Verify the identities of new customers by collecting, reviewing, and validating relevant documentation, including government-issued identification, proof of address, and business registration records.
  • Gather customer information through email communications, internal platforms, and other approved information sources to complete onboarding due diligence.
  • Conduct cross-platform research using public records, company registries such as Companies House, social media, and other open-source resources to establish the legitimacy and nature of customer businesses.
  • Assess customer risk profiles based on factors such as business activities, industry, geographic exposure, ownership structures, and other relevant risk indicators.
  • Perform Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews in accordance with internal policies and applicable UK regulatory requirements.
  • Identify inconsistencies, missing information, unusual business characteristics, and potential indicators of financial crime, escalating concerns through the appropriate channels.
  • Apply KYC policies, procedures, and compliance standards consistently to ensure accurate, complete, and well-documented onboarding decisions.
  • Maintain thorough records of customer research, supporting documentation, risk assessments, and due diligence outcomes to support auditability and regulatory compliance.
  • Use analytical judgment to evaluate customer information, identify patterns, and make informed recommendations based on the available evidence.
  • Identify opportunities to improve onboarding workflows, operational efficiency, and the overall customer experience while maintaining robust compliance controls.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve information gaps, clarify compliance requirements, and ensure effective coordination across onboarding operations.
  • Provide support to other business activities when required, contributing to shared operational objectives and the continuous improvement of compliance processes.
  • Ideally, at least one year of professional experience in KYC, customer onboarding, compliance, due diligence, or a related function, preferably within a highly regulated financial services or fintech environment.
  • Clear understanding of UK regulatory requirements relating to customer identification, onboarding due diligence, and financial crime prevention.
  • Practical knowledge of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), including customer verification, risk assessment, information gathering, and escalation procedures.
  • Experience reviewing customer documentation, researching business entities, validating information, and identifying discrepancies or potential risk indicators.
  • Familiarity with public information sources, online research, and company registries such as Companies House is an advantage.
  • Previous experience using Google Sheets for organizing information, reviewing records, and supporting data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to interpret large volumes of information, recognize patterns, and make evidence-based decisions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation, recordkeeping, and compliance reviews.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain findings clearly and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • A proactive and curious mindset, demonstrating initiative, sound judgment, and a genuine interest in understanding KYC principles and financial crime prevention.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to manage competing priorities, address challenges independently, and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work constructively with people from different backgrounds and across multiple functions.
  • A commitment to continuous learning, operational excellence, and identifying practical improvements that strengthen both compliance and customer experience.
  • Competitive salary aligned with the role and relevant experience.
  • Flexible working arrangements through a work-out-of-office policy, allowing remote work from home or elsewhere within your home country.
  • Opportunity to work remotely from another country for up to 90 days per year, subject to company policy.
  • Self and family health insurance coverage.
  • Term and life insurance benefits.
  • Outpatient Department (OPD) medical benefits.
  • Mental wellbeing support through Plumm.
  • Dedicated learning and development budget to support professional growth and skills enhancement.
  • Work-from-home setup allowance to help create a productive remote working environment.
  • 15 days of privilege leave.
  • 12 days of casual leave.
  • 12 days of sick leave.
  • Three additional paid days off for volunteering or learning and development activities.
  • Potential stock options, where applicable.
  • A collaborative and inclusive workplace that values diverse perspectives, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Opportunities to develop expertise in KYC, customer onboarding, regulatory compliance, and financial crime risk management.
  • A flexible workplace model that supports remote work while encouraging in-person collaboration and team engagement when appropriate.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
