The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Intelligence Developer based in United States.

The Business Intelligence Developer will contribute to a major modernization program supporting more than 200 federal courts across the United States. This role sits within a data modernization and governance team responsible for advancing reporting, analytics, data engineering, AI/ML, and data governance capabilities. You will design and deliver interactive dashboards, self-service reporting, predictive analytics, and decision-support solutions that turn complex data into actionable insights. The position combines hands-on technical development with close collaboration across product, engineering, UX, business, and program leadership teams. You will also help ensure analytics solutions meet demanding federal privacy, security, governance, and compliance standards. This is a fully remote opportunity offering meaningful impact on large-scale public-sector technology and data transformation initiatives.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, integrate, and continuously enhance configurable dashboards, self-service reporting capabilities, predictive analytics, and data visualizations within a modern cloud-based application environment.
  • Build intuitive and interactive dashboards that communicate business insights clearly while meeting performance, usability, scalability, and adoption objectives.
  • Translate business requirements, KPIs, and stakeholder needs into actionable technical designs, reporting solutions, analytical models, and meaningful insights.
  • Develop and validate SQL logic, calculations, metric definitions, analytical data models, and semantic layers across reporting products while coordinating with Data Engineering to resolve upstream data issues.
  • Coordinate data replication, feeds, and integrations required to support downstream stakeholders and external systems, ensuring data is accurate, consistent, secure, and appropriately governed.
  • Monitor and optimize analytical system performance, including dashboard load times and query response times, while driving continuous improvements through automation, performance tuning, metadata management, and advanced analytics.
  • Establish and apply data governance standards covering data accuracy, consistency, classification, security, privacy, access controls, documentation, lineage, and metadata management.
  • Support architecture documentation, governance artifacts, data lineage processes, metadata catalogs, and other documentation required to maintain a well-governed analytical environment.
  • Collaborate with product owners, data engineers, UX designers, analysts, business leaders, and program stakeholders to integrate analytics capabilities seamlessly into the user experience and drive adoption.
  • Support AI/ML capabilities in accordance with federal compliance requirements, maintaining an organized register of proposed, reviewed, approved, and rejected capabilities and tracking authorization history.
  • Promote responsible AI/ML practices that address transparency, risk mitigation, fairness, governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support testing activities by developing acceptance criteria, validating test results, refining requirements, sizing user stories, and removing delivery roadblocks ahead of sprint execution.
  • Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of general experience in information systems and at least 5 years of specialized experience; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Advanced hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, and data transformation techniques supporting large-scale analytical data systems.
  • Strong experience with business intelligence and visualization platforms such as Qlik, AWS QuickSight, Power BI, or Tableau, with Qlik and AWS QuickSight experience particularly valuable.
  • Advanced SQL capabilities and demonstrated experience working with analytical data models, semantic layers, and complex reporting environments.
  • Experience delivering reporting and analytics solutions within regulated, sensitive, or highly controlled data environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to evaluate complex information, identify opportunities for improvement, and formulate clear technical or business recommendations.
  • Experience applying industry tools, emerging technologies, methodologies, and best practices to improve data analytics and business intelligence capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, visualization standards, documentation, data security, privacy, and access-control principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and technical concepts clearly to both technical and senior customer stakeholders.
  • Consultant mindset with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work independently, collaboratively, and effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience supporting requirements definition, acceptance criteria, testing, user-story sizing, sprint preparation, and removal of delivery blockers.
  • Preferred certifications include credentials in data visualization and storytelling, Qlik Sense Business Analysis or Data Architecture, data management, Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Data Analytics, AWS Solutions Architecture, or AWS Data Engineering.
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain a Public Trust designation.
  • Must be a U.S. Person, including a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Annual salary range of $133,238–$180,261 USD, with final compensation determined based on experience, geographic location, and applicable contractual requirements.
  • Fully remote work environment with flexible work arrangements where possible.
  • Comprehensive medical plan options, including plans with Health Savings Accounts.
  • Dental and vision insurance options.
  • 401(k) plan with company matching and pre-tax and post-tax contribution options.
  • Paid time off, including vacation, sick and personal leave, holidays, and other qualifying leave programs.
  • Paid parental, military, bereavement, and jury duty leave.
  • Paid Family Leave of up to 160 hours within a rolling 12-month period for eligible employees.
  • Short- and long-term disability, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, personal accident, critical illness, and business travel and accident coverage.
  • Career growth and development opportunities, including resources designed to support learning and advancement.
  • Internal mobility support to help employees pursue long-term career goals.
  • A culture focused on innovation, collaboration, mission impact, and professional development.
  • Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week with less than 10% travel expected.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
