  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot production issues, coordinate with development and operations teams, and restore services efficiently.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis of production defects and implement long-term improvements to database stability, performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Develop and maintain operating standards, database management policies, data administration practices, and quality-control processes.
  • Define, manage, and coordinate data elements and standards while supporting efficient data relationships, systems integration, and physical database structures.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, users, agency leaders, and other stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design and document complex workflows, data models, mappings, data flows, data marts, and technical implementation approaches.
  • Develop and maintain SQL Server database objects, including stored procedures, jobs, views, tables, and related components.
  • Design scalable Databricks lakehouse data models across bronze, silver, and gold layers, including dimensional models, fact and dimension tables, and curated data products.
  • Develop and deploy ETL packages through CI/CD pipelines and support configuration management and version-control practices.
  • Perform data validation, ensure data accuracy and integrity, and participate in peer reviews of technical implementations.
  • Analyze and interpret large datasets, identify patterns and relationships, and develop visualizations, dashboards, reports, and KPIs to support business and program decisions.
  • Support database migrations from legacy on-premises environments to multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud platforms.
  • Configure and maintain monitoring through Splunk, including log indexing, dashboards, alerts, and reports.
  • Work within an Agile delivery model, participating in daily scrums, sprint planning, Program Increment planning, and related development activities.
  • 7+ years of experience in database administration, database maintenance, database analysis, or a closely related role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Proven experience supporting production database systems, including on-call responsibilities and flexible work schedules when required.
  • Strong experience with AWS database technologies, including Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and other AWS-managed database services.
  • Experience with Databricks and exposure to AWS cloud environments.
  • Experience installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining database environments.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, data modeling, data mapping, data flow diagrams, and data marts.
  • Experience architecting and implementing cloud-based database solutions and migrating data from legacy on-premises systems to cloud or hybrid-cloud platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with SQL Server Management Studio and develop database objects such as stored procedures, views, tables, and jobs.
  • Strong analytical, technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, with experience working through complex data and production issues.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and deliver work on schedule.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical ideas, implementation plans, workflows, and status updates for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of complex assignments, and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices and tools such as the Atlassian software development suite.
  • Preferred: AWS, database, or cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Database – Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, or comparable credentials.
  • Preferred: Experience creating database reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of court operations and law-enforcement-related business data.
  • Ability and willingness to provide on-call support and/or work a flexible schedule as operational requirements dictate.
  • Salary: Estimated range of $111,155–$150,385, depending on experience, geographic location, and applicable contractual considerations.
  • Work arrangement: Fully remote position with a standard 40-hour workweek.
  • Healthcare: Multiple medical plan options, including plans with Health Savings Accounts, plus dental and vision coverage.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
