The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, CRO & Analytics based in Canada.

This role leads a conversion rate optimization practice with a strong focus on data, experimentation, and behavioral science. You will translate quantitative and qualitative insights into revenue-driving improvements across Shopify ecommerce experiences. The position combines client strategy, analytics, statistical modeling, experimentation, personalization, and performance reporting. You will work with DTC and omnichannel brands, partnering closely with UX, Design, Development, and other specialists. A major focus is building reliable analytics foundations and turning funnel, cohort, and segmentation data into actionable priorities. You will also help evolve CRO through AI-enabled experimentation and real-time personalization. The role offers broad ownership across strategy, execution, client relationships, and the continuous improvement of CRO practices.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead strategic CRO engagements for ecommerce brands, including discovery, ongoing retainers, and consulting initiatives.
  • Serve as a data-driven strategy partner across site experience, merchandising, acquisition, retention, analytics, UX, and digital product roadmaps.
  • Develop strategies aligned with short- and long-term business objectives using funnel and cohort analysis.
  • Identify optimization opportunities across the customer journey, from landing pages and product pages through checkout and post-purchase experiences.
  • Develop data-backed hypotheses and prioritized testing roadmaps in collaboration with UX, Design, and Development teams.
  • Design, execute, and analyze A/B and multivariate experiments using appropriate statistical methods, including sample size, significance, and power calculations.
  • Monitor test and site performance, identify data anomalies, and continuously refine recommendations.
  • Lead the evolution toward AI-enabled experimentation and real-time personalization using behavioral and transactional data.
  • Apply AI throughout the experimentation lifecycle to improve insight generation, test design, velocity, and performance analysis.
  • Own monthly client analytics reporting covering traffic, conversion, revenue, channel mix, and experiment results, with prioritized recommendations.
  • Oversee analytics implementation and data integrity, including GA4, Google Tag Manager, Shopify Customer Events and pixels, consent mode, bot and spam filtering, and reconciliation with Shopify order data.
  • Build automated BI dashboards that visualize conversion trends, test impact, and revenue attribution for client leadership.
  • Conduct funnel, cohort, segmentation, statistical, ROI, revenue growth, and customer lifetime value analyses.
  • Combine quantitative analysis with qualitative research such as user testing, surveys, interviews, persona development, journey mapping, and competitive or heuristic audits.
  • Translate complex, multi-source data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations.
  • Perform final quality assurance on analytics and CRO deliverables and oversee CRO contractors and vendors.
  • Maintain the central CRO task board and support delivery coordination.
  • Collaborate with UX, Design, and Technical Delivery teams across new site builds, migrations, redesigns, feature launches, optimization, and maintenance.
  • Contribute to internal CRO, UX, and ecommerce best practices, frameworks, and thought leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, UX, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience leading CRO initiatives as a data-driven practice, mentoring team members, guiding cross-functional teams, and owning client strategy from discovery through execution.
  • Advanced ecommerce analytics expertise with the ability to turn raw data into clear insights and prioritized, revenue-focused actions.
  • Hands-on experience with statistical modeling for web experimentation, including hypothesis testing, sample size calculations, significance testing, and segmentation.
  • Experience with A/B testing and experimentation platforms such as Intelligems, VWO, Optimizely, Shoplift, Visually, or similar tools.
  • Advanced hands-on proficiency with Google Analytics 4, including custom reporting, funnel analysis, and segmentation.
  • Experience building prioritized and resourced testing roadmaps based on quantitative impact estimates.
  • Experience with the Shopify platform.
  • Experience partnering with UX, Design, and Development teams to bring insights and experiments into execution.
  • Experience conducting UX analysis, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain data and statistical findings to both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior agency experience supporting multiple brands and workstreams is preferred.
  • Experience with Klaviyo or other email and retention platforms is an advantage.
  • Understanding of paid social and paid search, including how traffic quality and acquisition data can affect experiment reliability, is preferred.
  • Working proficiency with BigQuery and SQL for independent, ad hoc analysis is a plus.
  • Remote position available in Canada.
  • Opportunity to lead a specialized CRO and analytics practice across multiple ecommerce brands.
  • Broad ownership spanning analytics, experimentation, AI-enabled optimization, client strategy, and business impact.
  • Exposure to DTC and omnichannel ecommerce environments and complex Shopify experiences.
  • Collaboration with UX, Design, Development, and Technical Delivery specialists.
  • Opportunity to work with modern analytics, experimentation, BI, and AI-driven optimization tools.
  • Ability to influence CRO frameworks, best practices, and thought leadership.
  • Opportunity to work across site builds, migrations, redesigns, feature launches, and ongoing optimization.
  • Fast-paced environment with responsibility for multiple client engagements and strategic workstreams.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
