This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Especialista de Engenharia de Dados based in Brazil.

This is a high-impact data engineering role within a growing, strategically important data organization. You will serve as a technical reference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP), helping shape modern, scalable, and governed data environments. Your work will support the development of data-driven products and business models across a complex financial ecosystem. You will design and evolve data pipelines, architectures, analytical layers, and data models across cloud and Big Data environments. The role combines hands-on engineering with architectural thinking, governance, security, and cost optimization. You will collaborate closely with analytics, data science, technology, and business teams to turn data needs into robust technical solutions. The position offers an opportunity to influence cloud adoption and establish engineering standards in a high-performance, fast-moving environment.

Accountabilities

  • Structure, organize, and continuously evolve the data environment on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), establishing architecture, security, governance, and engineering standards.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and improve data ingestion and processing pipelines across Big Data, on-premises, and GCP cloud environments.
  • Define and maintain data flows and reference architectures, ensuring scalability, resilience, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Structure and manage data layers with a strong focus on quality, governance, security, accessibility, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain analytical tables and normalized data models for consumption by technology and business teams.
  • Act as the technical GCP reference for the team, supporting best practices and the migration and expansion of data solutions into the cloud.
  • Partner with analytics, data science, technology, and business teams to translate requirements into robust and scalable data solutions.
  • Align, refine, and prioritize data demands with teams that produce and consume data.
  • Contribute actively to the evolution of data architecture, engineering practices, governance, and technical standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data platforms, processes, and architectures while balancing business value, technical quality, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including experience structuring, operating, and maintaining GCP environments.
  • Experience with modern data architectures such as Data Lake, Lakehouse, and Data Mesh.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data engineering and analytics use cases.
  • Practical experience with Big Data and data engineering technologies such as Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Hive, Presto, and/or NiFi.
  • Understanding of data architecture principles, including scalability, resilience, security, governance, data quality, and cost optimization.
  • Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines and analytical data models.
  • Knowledge of data and analytics services on other cloud platforms, particularly AWS services such as S3, EMR, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Kinesis, EC2, and Lambda, is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a growth mindset, with the ability to learn and operate effectively in dynamic environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
  • Availability to work in a hybrid model, with three days per week on-site in Brazil.
