The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Executive Sales Rep - Payer based in the United States.

As an Executive Sales Rep - Payer, you will drive the growth and adoption of clinical pharmacy services and technology solutions across the U.S. healthcare payer market. You will develop and execute strategic business development plans to secure new accounts, strengthen partnerships, and expand market reach. Working with health plans and channel partners, you will identify customer needs and deliver solutions that improve operational efficiency and patient outcomes. You will leverage your healthcare and pharmacy expertise to build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers and position innovative services in a competitive market. Collaborating closely with sales, marketing, product management, and operations teams, you will help shape go-to-market strategies and influence product development. This remote, individual contributor role offers significant autonomy, national market exposure, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on healthcare delivery.

Accountabilities

  • Drive new business growth: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to acquire new payer accounts, meet or exceed sales targets, and expand adoption of clinical pharmacy services and technology solutions.
  • Develop market opportunities: Identify emerging customer needs, assess market trends, and adapt existing offerings or propose new solutions that address payer requirements.
  • Build strategic relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with prospects, clients, channel partners, and internal stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • Lead consultative sales initiatives: Present and demonstrate services, communicate their value proposition, and position solutions to address customer challenges and improve patient outcomes.
  • Act as a market expert: Serve as a trusted advisor within the payer segment, staying informed about industry developments, competitive activity, emerging technologies, and evolving customer expectations.
  • Manage the sales pipeline: Maintain accurate prospect and opportunity records in Salesforce, support sales forecasting, and monitor progress against business development objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with marketing, sales operations, product management, and other internal teams to strengthen sales strategies, enhance customer satisfaction, and secure new business.
  • Share market intelligence: Communicate insights related to customer feedback, competitive positioning, pricing, promotional materials, product enhancements, and future business opportunities.
  • Maintain industry knowledge: Continuously develop expertise in healthcare technology, clinical services, pharmacy solutions, and complementary platforms to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Travel within the territory: Represent the organization in customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and other sales activities, with travel of up to 50%.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Pharmacy, or a related field required. A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or another clinical degree is an advantage.
  • Professional experience: At least eight years of relevant sales, pharmacy business development, or related experience, with a proven track record of success in the healthcare or pharmacy sector.
  • Industry expertise: Experience selling healthcare information technology, clinical services, pharmacy solutions, or technology-enabled healthcare products is highly desirable.
  • Payer market knowledge: Strong understanding of the healthcare payer landscape, customer needs, and the dynamics of selling clinical or technology solutions to health plans and related organizations.
  • Strategic sales capabilities: Demonstrated ability to develop business development plans, generate new opportunities, negotiate with stakeholders, and consistently deliver against sales targets.
  • Executive-level communication: Confidence presenting to decision-makers at all organizational levels, supported by excellent written, verbal, presentation, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Relationship management: Strong networking, consultative selling, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build long-term partnerships and influence purchasing decisions.
  • Analytical and organizational skills: Ability to assess market data, manage a sales pipeline, forecast accurately, prioritize opportunities, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Technical proficiency: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Windows-based applications, internet tools, networks, and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Adaptability and teamwork: Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively across multiple teams and business functions.
  • Flexibility and mobility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for customer engagements or industry events, and travel up to 50% across the assigned territory.
  • Location requirements: Based in a metropolitan area in the United States with convenient access to a major airport. The role is remote when not traveling, with responsibility for a designated payer segment across the national market.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, including prolonged periods of sitting, occasional walking and standing, bending, reaching, and lifting or moving items as needed.
  • Competitive compensation: Annual base salary ranging from $150,000 to $165,000, plus a target commission opportunity equal to 100% of base salary. Total on-target earnings are therefore approximately $300,000 to $330,000, before any additional eligible incentives.
  • Performance-based incentives: Potential additional bonus, commission, or long-term incentive opportunities, depending on the position and compensation package offered.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • Additional voluntary benefits: Access to voluntary insurance and other supplemental benefit options.
  • Health savings and spending accounts: Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options.
  • Family-building support: Fertility and family planning benefits, paid parental leave, and adoption assistance.
  • Paid time off: Flexible paid time off for exempt employees, or up to 15 PTO days during the first year for non-exempt employees.
  • Paid holidays: 11 paid holidays annually.
  • Retirement planning: 401(k) plan with employer matching and an available Roth option, with immediate eligibility.
  • Wellness initiatives: Access to a corporate wellness program designed to support employee well-being.
  • Inclusive workplace: Employee resource groups that encourage community, connection, and professional engagement.
  • Remote work flexibility: Work from home when not traveling, with the flexibility and autonomy of a national, individual contributor sales role.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
